I would liked it more if atleast some attention was put into his unique magic at least some interest and theorizing from art because you can't just evolve magical energy to weapons like that without instructions and tranning in normal circumstances he could at least assumed something was up perhaps theorising he developed an innate magic mutation like lux ext but no he just treats it as normal
