I just realized that it’s not a fight between the human and the defiled saint but between dread lord and soul stealer, that is why the dread lord was acting as if running from something. He was running from the millions soul stealer aiming at him that is why even mundane try to attack him. Man I don’t know how they are gonna survive this and why did they even try to fight with so many unknown against two of the plague
anyone else think back to before they entered the nightmare and the soul stealing abomination infecting the bodies of the dead which chased them into the nightmare? sounds alot like soul stealer had already managed to escape and take over the bodies of the dead in the real world before they entered.
ok so it is defiled Mordred who is trying to kill defiled Kai. the scene of all these people jumping to their death against the dragon was the soul stealer's doing. for the crown it's a bit anticlimactic, i was expecting it to give a much stronger edge to sunny besides a simple "unlock time". it's a key of the defensive array after all.
So, up to this point, Sunless has assumed that all of the events that he has encountered have been manipulated by the Mad Prince. However, I am starting to question how much of this has been from Sunless' defiled form and how much manipulation Soul Stealer has done behind the scenes. Also, as others have already concluded, Mordret's motivations are not aligned with the rest of the cohort.
