Is there a better novel out there? I’ve lost interest in all the others. All I care about is what is going to happen next to Sunny.

Since scavengers absorb qualities of what they eat, wondering if any of them ate a shadow or even shadow creatures and got shadow fragments, would be a nice boon for sunny.

I wonder if having Sunny there is actually causing them to be in more danger since his fated aspect probably ties a lot more events to his location

Seems to me we have a real scientific opportunity here. Why don't we defeat the nightmare creatures and clear the gate but then investigate the Call and go through the gate? They may be able to secure the other side and create a new human citadel. They may be able to find out more about the Call and maybe nullify it. Or... they might get trapped in another nightmare, a mature nightmare that has blossomed into a gate. What would be the consequences or rewards for completing something like that? Science has questions!!
