I hope that you have more motivation to continue the story, Iā€™ll be happy to give a few suggestions from time to time. Iā€™m curious to see how Louis will do in foreign affairs, particularly when the American War of Independence breaks out in 1775. I hope that France will still provide aid to the Americans during the war. On a separate note I wonder if it would be possible for Louis to annul Marieā€™s sisterā€™s marriage to Ferdinand of Naples which would allow her to re-marry some other noble who she has fallen in love with? I just thought that it would be touching for Louis to do that for Marieā€™s sister seeing as how unhappy she is in her marriage.

I think Louis (MC), should have more to say/contribute to these meetings {even if he is initially dismissed as a child/novice}.

so I have an idea that you can put in your story, there is a character in the history of the French revolution called Joseph Boulogne Chevalier de Saint-Georges, there is even a film that tells his story ā€œCheveliereā€ which is very good. He was very important for the period before the French revolution and during the revolution, his history was erased by Napoleon, but resentfully his history is being rescued, he was commander of a brigade made entirely of black soldiers, there are many things that were lost because of Napoleon, who restructured slavery later in French history.

Preventing the French Revolution would have required addressing the primary causes that led to the uprising. Here are some potential solutions that could have been implemented: 1.Ā Economic Reforms: The economic hardships experienced by the French people were a major cause of the revolution. Implementing economic reforms, such as reducing taxes on the lower class and implementing policies to reduce inflation and increase employment, could have alleviated these issues. 2.Ā Political Inclusion: The French society was heavily stratified with the nobility and clergy enjoying most of the privileges. Offering more political representation to the Third Estate (which represented the common people) could have helped in reducing the social tension. 3.Ā Addressing Social Inequalities: The social inequalities were stark in the French society of the time. The nobility and the clergy enjoyed numerous privileges while the common people were heavily burdened. Addressing these inequalities and implementing social reforms could have helped in preventing the revolution. 4.Ā Reforming the Monarchy: The monarchy was seen as out of touch with the realities of the common people. Reforms aimed at making the monarchy more responsive to the needs of the people could also have helped. 5.Ā Avoiding Foreign Policy Failures: The foreign policy failures of the French monarchy added to the economic and social troubles. A more successful foreign policy could have improved the economic situation and reduced the dissatisfaction among the people. 6.Ā Addressing Subsistence Crises: The subsistence crises of 1788ā€“89, where poor harvests led to food shortages and increased food prices, were a significant factor in the revolution. Measures to improve agricultural productivity and manage food supplies could have helped in this regard. Please note that these are hypothetical solutions, and the actual historical context was much more complex. Sources: Britannica, Aeon, OUP Academic

Hopefully Louis and Marieā€™s son and Gustavā€™s daughter will also fall in love as soon as Louis and Marie did should they end up marrying each other. I hope that the next chapter will be posted relatively soon.
