I think the author is going out of his way to make us hate the MC. That cringy, starry eye, grinning , blushing, overly polite nonsense that’s unlike any 18 year old I’ve ever met. But then he up and kills off the mom, the only thing which grounds the dislikeable character, but wait, there’s more! Apparently no one will hire him for normal work, and if they do, he’s under paid! but why, his stats are higher than a average person!….. right!? I just think the character is put a little too low for the sake a future growth. Being normal doesn’t diminish breaking the shackles of normalcy, in fact it would make him more relatable!
