I love the story, and I'm sorry about all of the people reading just to hate in the comments. Just a suggestion, but maybe try writing with more sentence lengths and types. It really helped when I figured that out in school. It somehow made my essays sound more professional, but that was alongside a rapidly expanding vocabulary.

To be fair in this world setting Vampires pretty much considered to be Original power holders as there are no public Vampires. Asking for a chance to become one is not crazy daydreaming but a genuine attempt to grab a chance. But yeah I find most characters less 'hero of a novel' like and more what a real human would do. Fear, disbelief, denial can change your actions, the Mc is not doing whats best for him at all times but thats just how people are sometimes. I know I shouldn't stay up late to read webnovels but I will do it anyway and suffer tomorrow morning xD

So there's people with enough influence superior to the military.... despite the world being militarized so much because of the war, and there are students who waste their time and influence on beating up low leveled people in a school? Glad I'm not too far in so it didn't feel like a huge waste of time. Definitely dropping this troupe infested story.

I’m failing to understand why Vorden is being so nice with them. The only logical explanation is that Vorden detected the strangeness of Quinn and he’s taking advantage. If this isn’t the case and in the future he doesn’t betray him, I’m calling this out as a shallow/forced relationship since they literally just met.
