well ultimately this is his story it's up to him at what pace he writes the story. maybe you don't like those so called pointless chapters but a good story has a balance of action, info, world build up and those casual things you don't like. a lack of any of these things would make the story blend and repetitive. just cause your impatient and want more chapters won't change this facts but hey what do I know.
My guy there is a difference between world building and dragging out useless nonsense for word count. If you search for certain phrases, they are repeated so many times its insane. It didnt use to be this bad. Nothing is accomplished in the span of 5-6 chapters. Its the same repeated stuff. Its disappointing what this novel has become.
