I think you can, the basic concepts are explained (at least I think so) and if you have doubts I will answer. That said, a large part of the fic revolves around the MC interacting with characters I'm supposing readers have a certain knowledge of. This is not a fighting fic, it's more a slice of life so knowledge about the characters is important. All in all, the only thing I can tell you is that if in the first 10 chapters you are not understanding anything, the rest of the novel is similar.
