Story’s concept is intriguing, but leaves much to be desired. Aside from the obvious in relation to the novel’s title and Rose being Blake’s Sugar Mommy, the dynamic in their relationship isn’t all that much to my liking at the start. Blake is treated no different from a slave/pet for several dozen chapters before their relationship slowly starts to change for the better, the catalyst being him getting attacked as a means to hurt Rose. Their relationship in a way begins anew at this point and it looks like things will start to take a turn for the best, but then we’re sprung with some nonsense that pretty much halts all of that. Blake is accused of murder and is absent from the story for quite some time as Rose tries to navigate a way out of this predicament but nothing is going her way. Not to mention the switch in POV with other characters and their intimate moments that I honestly could care less about. Read up until the most recent chapters outside of privilege, and Blake still hasn’t been proven innocent while Rose struggles to do anything about it. Reading has been somewhat depressing thus far and my desire to continue any further has waned. Not fond of stories where nothing seems to be going well for the main leads. Primarily came for the romance, and it’s been lackluster for some time now. May check up on this in a few months should I remember, but otherwise going to be put on hold until this situation resolves itself.

In response to some of the things you complained about. First of, I'd attribute it to the fact that you jumped the gun and left too early otherwise you'd see that the situation has been resolved . Secondly, a pet or slave is quite the strong word to use on Blake as even at the very start, Blake has stood his ground on matters that matter when it comes to Rose's controlling side which I did mention in the synopsis that she was a possessive, domineering vampire. Added to that, she is rich and spoilt so I don't believe it would make sense for her to treat Blake as though he was the best thing since sliced bread. I still think working for a boss who is a vampire, filthy rich and supports you in so many ways would only come with you having to take some orders. But Blake doesn't even listen to everything she says. Unless you expect him to go against his boss at the very beginning which to me feels outrageous. Even with their improved relationship dynamics it makes no sense to take advantage of that and start going about doing his own thing. That would only be childish. And as a matter of fact, Rose has only given him about 2 direct orders in the entire chapters available so far. One which he refused to do and the other he did. And like you put, everything seemed to be going well until the conflict begins when Blake is arrested and Rose does everything in her power to help get him out. That in itself I'd still call romance simply because she cared enough to abandon her empire just for a human. Depressing? Well I guess we we are allowed to use different adjectives because I don't see what's depressing here only that there's a conflict in the story that needs to be fixed and if you read past the privilege chapter you'd find out it has been fixed, smartly even! As for the side characters being given the spot light, I like to believe that's actually a good thing. Because most of them like Tessa and Josh if I'm guessing correctly they should be the two you are upset about are both a huge part of the story as we move forward. So it's only right I develop them from the start rather than push them to the curbs and bring them in whenever. That wouldn't feel abrupt? All in all, I believe writing comes with expectations and sadly, I can't match every readers expectations but it's what I strife for. I'm still inexperienced and green in several parts but I'm learning as we go. So thank you for the informative review. I'll look more into the subjects talked about and see what can be improved upon. Also looking forward to having you back.

Some 60 chapters? He makes an appearance for his hearing during that period of time, afterward he’s absent again.

MC missing for 60 chapters? Wow that's the 1st novel I know of that does that. Well thanks for saving my time. I was so excited since romance will more focus on the MC's POV is rare and now it's down the drain.
