Mushoku Tensei is my favorite story of all time. What makes it so beautiful is that the main character, Rudeus, isn't perfect and has his own set of flaws. The problem in this story is that Gilgamesh is pretty much a perfect being. He is already strong, looks good, and is a prince. There is no development to obtaining his strength other than him suddenly becoming strong. There is no real danger, as he has the Gate of Babylon with him. I may only be on Chapter 12 and be a bit hasty with this judgment but I suspect that he will only show off his powers and take the original main cast to become his harem. I'd be fine with this in any other fanfic but the original writing of Mushoku Tensei just has my expectations set very highly in terms of how well characters are written.

LIKESince I have been a writer, I have never before thought about surpassing the writings of original authors. This novel is made to explore other places far from the original story. I don't follow any plot and my character is just one who will seek his own path, to be human and appreciate life. As you progress you will realize what the novel wants to convey and that is beyond any other objective as if by force. It would have been more interesting if he had just left with his Gate of Babylon and lost everything else, but it's done that way so I can't change it.
