instead of having to go through the hassle of getting chosen during trial read and the pitiful amount of money he'd get since not only does webnovel take a sizable chuck of the pay before the translator gets anything, people also usually just read the locked chapters online for free from novel pirating sites because of the MASSIVE paywall chapters are usually locked behind. why not just sign with wuxiaworld? he's had novel deals with them before and they do things a lot more professionally than webnovel/EN qidian. Not only would his novel be confirmed to get a quality English translation, he could also get it sold on places like kindle which would help generate revenue even after the novel finishes translation. smh, qidian really cucked him, I honestly didn't even read a world worth fighting for.

It is a licensing issue in China. WuxiaWorld originally had the licenses to the earlier work, Then the Chinese government bought the publisher Qidian and saw the profits to be made in America and started a legal battle. There are two other publishers in China but Er Gen publishes on Qidian. I hope that gives a little more insight. I followed ”I Shall Seal The Heavens” and even sponsored a few chapters. If you caught a live chapter you got to see the whole issue and how it effected WuxiaWorld through the translator notes. It is a pity because their translation was leagues above and beyond. Qidian even took WuxiaWorld’s translated articles and published them on their app here. I recommend looking into Ren’s articles in the past on it if you wish to know more. But suffice to say Qidian reneged on the deal and contract but Ren won the vourt battle and was in the right. It is sad the average reader doesn know. This also led to the cancellation of other gems such as Reverand Insanity for not setting a “good example”. Beware of the censorship curren starting to happen in our country. Our rights are being chipped away little by little and everytime it does we get closer and closer to facts, freedoms, and everything being compromised. I hope I or if I ever have any children don’t live in such a world but I feel it is inevitable…

Do you happen to be in the er gen verse server? Many of us honestly just went and finished the novels without needing the translation. Not like they did homework on previous works anyway, most of the connection to them were provided by us even in the 900-ish Human Translated chapters for World Within One's Grasp (awwp). And now it's back but with MTL quality, so edited MTL we read is much superior to chapters WN is pumping out these days.
I'm in a discord server called "the er gen verse" but I don't see anywhere I can read mtls. The server I'm in has 620 members, idk if it's the server you're talking about.

I was more inferring the Er Gen novel. They cancelled Reverand Insanity though due to it painting a bad example of what a main character can be It was not in definition what Chinese youths should aspire to be. The Chinese government then thought that by cancelling the novel they would no longer promote such a person as a rolemodel. I can't make this stuff up sadly. If you need me to I can go track down the evidence. It might take me a while to dig it out. But it's there sadly.

They have. But you still get a certain amount of free chapters every day. And us that were original VIP users, nothing changes. Basically a small monthly fee to read all completed, current and future novels for free. On webnovel though, all privilege gets you is the 'privilege' to pay before anyone else.
