In my opinion, "Bombarding Cultivators with Cluster Artillery" that has somewhat similar plot was one level better. Even "I Wanted to be a Good Person Once" was much better up till eastern jurisdiction arc, or "Constellation Door" before they ventured to cosmos. If you have read "Way of the Devil", then this "Comprehension Ability" novel feels bland throughout just like "Way of the Devil" felt after it lost its mystery vibe at the start. Next I will try out "Cannon Fire Arc". Heard it has some unique traits and is quite good, I think the only good pure soldier novel I know is "Black Iron's Glory", it's been years.
I just finished chapter 517. Can't say this novel is a masterpiece, it isn't. It's pretty average, especially the interactions between characters that are so lifeless and shallow. The goodnesses' introduction and injection is a bit childish and silly, as if written for teenager readers. The world building had potential, but the sophistry of the worlds and universes isn't much, they feel quite bland and unexplored. It's basically a novel for people who like OP MC going somewhere, returning and quickly crushing everyone with his power. He upgrades real fast like on steroids, everyone is in awe, rinse and repeat and that's pretty much the essence of the novel, quite boring.

If you have read "Way of the Devil", then this "Comprehension Ability" novel feels bland throughout just like "Way of the Devil" felt after it lost its mystery vibe at the start. Next I will try out "Cannon Fire Arc", a soldier/war novel. Heard it has a new unique take to novels and is quite good, I think the only good pure soldier novel I read was "Black Iron's Glory", I enjoyed it very much, it's been years.
I will bookmark this novel and read someday. It has been years since I read Black Iron's Glory, which is also a war novel, time sure flies. It was quite good except the slow start, and I particularly remembered it because it had a few unique traits, especially the take on MC and women. MC had a few women around himself, I think he f... like three of them. And surprise surprise, the author made it backfire at MC's irresponsible actions which was refreshing. Female teacher wanted to exploit his position, or wife changed and became very toxic and stupid, giving him headaches. She got his riches & glory into her head alongside his mother, and they acted superficially in comfy place, while he kept warring. When he was stressed he preferred another lover, he went against her wishes for the son, I think he wanted to divorce her too. Karma for MC.
Three AIs? So this novel is like Bombarding Cultivators with Cluster Artillery? In the other novel the MC also has great trust in AI and other than uploading so many stuff, he even told it coordinates of the world he travels to, in order to sell it to get resources and sect's help. But the AI concluded the world is too far away, cultivators cannot be teleported so no deal was made... if the AI was controlled by someone, or with virus or something, he'd be screwed
Finished the novel. MC's space reminds me of Lord of Mysteries and Museum of Deadly Beasts. It's fast paced for people who like blood rushing vibes. Was quite a good mystery & investigation & undercover & battle novel up to some point, even though MC was full of godlike cheats (they are explained at the very end). The novel started detoriating real fast once the plot of eastern jurisdiction was over. The novel can be said to be good mostly up to this point. In final notes, author admits that ,,it collapsed in the middle and late stages, which also greatly affected my creative passion and confidence" as well as ,,the more I write, the less I feel". After the plot of eastern jurisdiction, the chapters are a mess, everything feels so rushed and braindead, author skips many interesting and possible plots and dealings with characters, ugh, it's very anti-climatic. As for MC himself: he is not that likeable. Quite a psycho with twisted morality, lots of abilities are very dark. With all the cheats and power he has, he definitely didn't need to bloodbath so many characters, or when he knew the truth, he could just drop his petty reasoning at getting at them. And he sure is greedy for women... I have just learnt that one of the author's older books is actually "I'll Add Points to All Things". I digged into it years ago, and completely dropped at chapter 297. It was worse than current novel, it had promising start, but as far as I can remember it collapsed much earlier, while psycho MC among other things like rac... killed it. Anyway, have fun reading!
The novel started detoriating real fast once the plot of eastern jurisdiction was over. Currently at chapter 447(364), while 466(383) is the final chapter. A couple dozen of chapters are a mess, everything feels so rushed, author skips many interesting and possible plots and dealings with characters, ugh, he probably wanted to finish it asap as he exhausted his imagination and potential. I skim through the chapters just to see the ending. MC is not that likeable, lots of abilities are very dark, and his morality is twisted as well. A psycho.
Great novel with "two worlds" plot that can make one be glued to screen. Recommended to check out, the beginning was lackluster compared to what's ahead. This novel includes some "kingdom" building/force management too. Sadly I can't find MTL after chapter 725, so that's where my journey with this book ends for now. Will re-check in future for more!
If you guys enjoy the latest "two worlds" genre, then I'd recommend "Bombarding Cultivators with Cluster Artillery" that I am currently digging in (am at around chapter 700, MTL is on fannovels). The first 30 chapters were boring, but later it's great. One plot is in the modern day technological cultivation Earth that is adjacent to a realm with 8 great sects, they have millions or billions of cultivators each and they war for thousands of years across dozens of small worlds and space for resources etc. The Earth cultivators are weak solo, their cultivation core focuses on developing army battle formations, team battles w/ technology. The second plot is in some "small" world (it's big but they called it small) to where our MC can teleport, it's too far away from the main battlefields and sects. Here, first it's a local three-party conflict in some quite marginal area, then we slowly get enlarged to another, stronger continent/area where a certain ruling hegemon was getting invaded by another hegemon migrating force and they fight for hundreds of years with some twists and turns. MC has many cool solo moments and leapfrogging, does some "kingdom" building as he develops his own forces (he would prefer to just cultivate while others farm passive income or research techniques for him). MC sometimes cheats with modern Earth technology, e.g. when he was still mortal, he used drones for topography and opponent movements.
They were not the best, and so many things went wrong, but I also enjoyed reading them. Later I also enjoyed "A Sorcerer's Journey". As of now I am digging into "Bombarding Cultivators with Cluster Artillery", though this is not about wizards, more like modern technological cultivator Earth warring with great sects from outside the realm, competing for resources and small worlds.
How to say it.. While reading, you feel like you enjoy reading this novel, but it also feels somewhat boring and predictable, even though it's not bad. At around chapter 500 and 600 I was considering to put it on hold and read some new novel, it felt as if there was nothing outstanding or groundbreaking, plus there are too many tournaments in the plot that aren't really that great. Then the ancestal dragon court arc happens starting at around 650 chapter and plot intensifies like on steroids. It blows my mind... my heart starts pounding crazily, my blood starts pumping and body breaks out in sweat. GREAT! Author finally delivered something incredible, and I wasn't mentally prepared. It was worth reading the previous chapters even if for just this one arc. I will continue reading it and see if author can surprise me again. Cheers
