I like the concept, but I dislike the execution. It feels more like a face slapping novel set in a not very well defined gym than a novel about the owner of a gym system. I really do like the concept though, if I ever have time to write a system novel then a gym one would now be on the top of my list of topics to choose from.

They choose this concept because it's trendy and easy to write. That's pretty much why you'll never get what you want there, proper authors have more ambitions than this so only newbies and garbo writers will write copy-pasta novels using this concept. Similar to the "transported world, hints system" or "sign-in system", which have a lot of potential, but most are just copy pasta. Sadly
I think you are overestimating 'proper authors'. Authors want paychecks too. That's why so many otherwise decent Chinese writers write nationalism and racism into their novels, because Chinese readers eat it up. Newbie writers follow not because it's easy (if it was they would all have written a decent novel), or they have no talent, but because they see the potential paychecks while watching Qidian's ranking charts.

Despite my thoughts on this, I'd rather it get picked than the other 5. Maybe it gets better further along as the writer gets more experience.
