new troupe??? lol. there are a bunch of stories like this (I have seen more than 15) but they're usually slow paste so they don't get rated well and you don't see them.

It’s not exactly a new trope, Never Die Extra and Trash of the Count’s Family do similar things. They just have knowledge of the future to confirm their paranoia. But I think paranoid protagonists are more interesting than confident ones.

it reminds me of Japanese stories where the main character transmigrates into the body of the main boss, or the brother of the main boss, in a galge game. The death flag evading from the Japanese story and the preparing for the arrival of the 'protagonist' have the same kind of drive behind them, and both have a lot of focus from the main character on the 'protagonist' character.
