Childishly written emo MC and generally very unrealistically feeling characters all around. Biggest issue is that the writer clearly has no idea how to properly format his writing, so it's pretty much just a jumble of different characters' dialogue, scene changes, time skips and everything just thrown in willy-nilly. Makes it a chore to read. Not a bad attempt for a new writer, but there's a lot of work to do. With teenager standards I'm sure it's fine though.

That's because you're misunderstanding what most mean when they say this. Something can be fantastical yet still realistic, in the sense that the rules the author sets up for his magic are kept throughout the story and not just thrown in whenever they feel like it without any regard for the structure or expectations behind it. What I meant by unrealistic characters in this case is that the people in the story simply do not act like actual people would, even given their living in a magical world and positioned where they are. If characters don't act, speak, respond and generally are made to feel at least somewhat real, in relation to our own idea of what people are like, it becomes jarring and drags you out of the immersion of the story. And of course you can create a character who stays calm while killing people, while being ordered by a demon to kill people, and make it feel realistic. Plenty of such people exist today, just replace "demon" with more real-world things. It's not meant as if dragons, magic and flying ships should be removed in order for a fantasy story to feel realistic, just that the logic behind them should be consistent and at least somewhat thought out. Ideally to the point where the reader can feel like a part of the world and understand the options and limitations.

I didn't read yet but I'm seeing the "mc is childish" argument a lot nowadays as a negative. I can understand its probably not to the taste of some people, but there are a lot of great "childish" characters in fiction, for example Luffy, Naruto, Gon etc... are quite childish even in later episodes and anime tend to be quite relaxed about real and mental age as we can see adults with childish tendencies and there are teenagers with adult mentality. In my opinion just being childish can't be really a negative if the story is written with that in mind and If its mentioned as a negative then it should be explained why it doesn't fit in that specific case.

hmmm all I see is hate in this comment mc is not childish he was raised to be a killer in his last life he's trying to change in this one the only thing I can see that make him childish is his love for pets and that something most people have in them and it's a known fact that half breeds can get scared gears the have the most chance except for humans that's all I got to say read the fic if you want to and key word "fic" not realistic ik you guys seen worst fics than this and in my book it's in the top 20 for me

No, the example I gave didn't directly explain the situation of Esdeath, the demon's voice causes madness in people, even in the world of akame ga kill where the characters have more willpower, everyone who tried the demon extract became crazy or died, although Esdeath is crazy, she was already crazy before taking the demon extract, it hasn't changed much, but it's a fact that her enormous willpower prevented her from being influenced by the demon and becoming someone who kills anything that show up.
