there's a couple reasons why twilight novels usually get dropped, first power levels, most twilight mcs are either super overpowered or underpowered, it's hard to balance a character against immortal vampires with super strength reflexes and powers, and if it's the too op route then all there really is in the novel is romance, and when it comes to romance not a lot of fanfiction writers are good at it or have the patience to make it last more than 3 chapters before there married and brought up rarely, for the underpowered, if the mc is to weak they often take a back burner to other characters in the novel and not a lot of readers can put up with that kinda story so they flame the author till they drop or author writes themselves into an inescapable situation where the mc would definitely die.... and the other main reason is twilight fanfiction doesn't get a lot of traffic, so a lot of writers realize they can get 10-25 times more reads writing a fic on another story to get those sweet power stones and patreo-n donations, writing takes time and not a lot of people would spend hours a week writing for pure enjoyment they usually expect some form of praise or financial gain out of it
