Are you saying that anyone who tries to be a good friend and comrade, but then dies at the hands of the main character or anyone else in my fic, is a turn-off? There are plenty of such instances in the One Piece world. If you're light-hearted and biased against Usopp being killed, and that turns you off, then you should be turned off by anyone who fits the same description. Don't be hypocritical—just admit that you don't like Usopp being killed because he's part of the main cast.

Firstly, I have a bias against Usopp, so that's a factor in my decision. Secondly, it's consistent with Toshiro's character to act this way. If I let Usopp stay alive, he would interrupt and stand in front of Toshiro, making Toshiro look like a clown if he didn't kill someone who dared to interrupt him. I could have Toshiro cut off his limbs to keep him alive, but ultimately, it's my fanfic and I can do whatever I want.
