From the free chapters I read this one is good. It's a literal chad MC. The pacing is just right and situations aren't so contrived. The writing makes you somewhat visualize what's happening.

problem is Japan is totally ignoring what they did back then, some even go as far as treat some officials back then as heroes. Agreed that hating on the current generation for past crimes is not good but when the government actively suppresses information making themselves out as the good guys, there's something wrong with that. Germany owns up to their history so that history won't repeat itself but Japan went and did not accept accountability for their most heinous crimes, it's infuriating when you see detailed accounts of current Japanese people not knowing why they were nuked(though that is a different discussion in on itself) and only learning their part in WW2 when they go out of their country and interact with other people. I'm not justifying Chinese authors' racism against Japan but where there is smoke there is fire.

for the first 20 chapters it's basically, "blah, blah,blah". The story keeps on telling instead of showing. Because of that the mc is portrayed as an angst teenager, think typical anime protag. The situation is too familiar like ATG or TDG and it's not even doing a good job of it. everything seems contrived, you can actually see the author putting the situations on the mc, whereas others would try to mask it. The writing quality is good though, so it's good for beginner readers as an intro to cultivation novels. I really wanted to spend money on it but everything seems like its a mashup of the tropes of cultivation novels. ED, ATG, TDG, CD, etc, its a mix of their character traits which makes the mc unlikeable, until now im still confused on how I should view him. Its like "trying too hard" where the story became an awkward pacing, especially since the author likes telling instead of showing. Don't get me wrong, if I was the beginner reader that I was back then, I would have consumed this so fast but as you go through many novels you actually get very picky with stories you want to spend time with. so go ahead read it, at least you won't get brain mush trying to make sense of what the author wrote. Someone comment if i get it wrong somewhere down the line. but i probably wont see it.

anyone know a novel with the same premise as this? I know of Immortal in magic world but he kinda turns disconnected too fast so Im looking for other similar novels.

but in this case I literally cringed. It's like a teenager read a similar intro somewhere and decided to copy it because it was cool. It has a similar cringe vibe to novels where they include the talking to robs/gods in the intro. I did not use "cringe" cause it became some internet slang, I used it cause I actually cringed.

alright, thank you, good to know. So if you're planning to summon a dremora or a lesser daedra, do you need permission(contract?) from a prince in the plane where it was summoned from? Never really got into conjuration besides the bound weapons when playing the game so didn't bother with the lore.

I thought you needed to contract with a daedra before using conjuration spells? or is it just a fanfiction I read?
