On top of that heatbending is unique to xing. nobody expected it, so they are ill prepared to face it. Xing's main problem with losing body heat too fast with firebending is also more or less solved.

meruem shouldn't be a problem for blaze at all. even if he is strong and durable the ant lacks speed. blaze is top tier in one piece meaning that he speed blitzes meruem. fast learning won't save him from a man that is exponentially faster and has ability to see into the future. only logical reason would be if blaize held back in speed departament, but the situation at hand tells us the ather story entirely. not only was blaize serious and going full throttle, but he was actively using gods's blood.
