There was a time where I stopped reading novels and mangas because I realized that I was using these mediums to escape from my life. I was projecting myself into these characters while reading about them. I was fantasizing myself in their situations, their success, their perfect life, their struggles and other things. This obseesion made me repeat one school year since I never studied and didn't go to school often. I felt especially miserable after finishing a novel and going to bed because I know how much regret I have for reading this much and not doing anything for my life. After that I wake up in the morning and fake illness to just numb myself with reading again. I came back to reading after finishing high school and I think I am slowly going back into this obsession of self insert but now I have hobbies that I like to practice, I have one or two places I like to go from time to time, I have a job and more importantly I know that these are just stories of fiction so they can appear perfect while life has its ups and downs. I just hope life doesn't hit me hard enough to bring me back to that dark place. I am not shaming anyone reading novels since I myself got back into it. I just wanna say the reason I was reading was unhealthy and no one should associate escapism with happiness.

There are some novels with a unique story but most authors go with the more popular genres because that's where the views are or they themselves write about popular genres because they simply like it.
Our character was an orphan boy whose parents were killed by someone. It's such a cliché when I think about it.
