If you want to use a weak version of that power then you should of made something up with god. By saying making the god say it's too powerful in its base form but he's able to give him a weaker version. You don't die right away from your heart being pierce as the brain still has blood in it, but it would of been more accurate to say he died from shock as his body would of shut down from it.
