In all fairness, if I were Rey, I’d tell Esme, “First, I want you to know that I personally don’t want you to leave. You’re my closest friend and I cherish you greatly. But because I cherish you so much, I don’t want to deny you an opportunity you could possibly want. That’s why, I want you to choose. If you don’t want to do this, we can leave and I’ll do everything in my power to find another way to cure my friend. But if you choose to stay... know that I will miss you greatly. I’ll do everything in my power to try and visit you… but I doubt The Oracle would allow such a thing. But know this, no matter what you choose, I’ll never resent the choice you make. I’ll always be on your side.” Something like this, idk.
