I met the author through the discord of another novel by another author. Through that discord I found his first novel Lightning Is The Only Way. I absolutely loved his writing style and that story so when that one finished and Sword God in a World of Magic started began I was among the first to start reading it. the way the author builds his world and characters is honestly in my opinion the best. he not afraid of going extremely dark and graphic. there may be things that you can forsee happening that actually jasper but for the most part expect the unexpected as the author has proven he is the master of subverting expectations. thank you Heat for another amazing novel. I look forward to seeing how everything turns out in Kill the Sun

I think it's more of a classist reason. if a mage praises a warrior it doesn't really matter because in this world mages are the most powerful. even if the mage in question like the warrior they are in different leagues entirely. for shang to be praised by someone who will consistently underestimate and disregard him it wouldn't really seem like praise. whereas when he gets praise from a fellow warrior who can see the potential and growth it would feel more genuine. at least that's my thoughts on the matter
