I think this is a copycat/webnovel stolen idea. I found a MTL novel: mtlnation (dot) com/novel/cracking-the-case-crazy-i-can-see-the-crime-scene/ Basically the same summary. The plot seems different; at least chapter 40 (the only chapter i checked) is different.

I mean webnovel is still owned by qidian though. Also, since it is a translation and not an original work, it's not like the translators are at liberty to change the story as they wish.

I don't think she was the firstborn. A couple of paragraphs up, the father says "No, we gave her away. She already had a sister back then." I would assume the family wouldn't have given away their oldest child when they've already spent effort raising her. This is further corroborated in the father's next dialogue. "Her elder sister's stem cells aren't suitable". Since it says 'Her elder sister', I would assume this is referring to the estranged daughter's elder sister ergo this daughter is most likely the second born
