38 Mechanical Charge Blade

Soon, a week had passed.

The Exo suit battle against a street thug video was still profiting. When he refreshed his feed during its earlier phase, he would gain a few thousand new followers each time. However, everything gradually returned to normal and his final followers count stopped at 1,200,000 followers.

It was a huge number, but it seemed to only be a number to him. When he had just reached 1,000,000 followers, he was extremely ecstatic. However, in reality, there was no impactful change in his life.

His steel Charge Blade and the model Charge Blade video only had around 1,000,000 views, while cruder crafts in his earlier videos gained around 10,000 to 100,000 views and nothing more than that.

It seemed with these views alone, his video reward revenue would amount to 50,000 yuan. Divided by thirty, he would have 2,000 yuan every day.

This would only be a temporary one-hit-wonder. Now that the viral wave had calmed down, his future growth would also return to normal. However, the view increment would be long term and he now had a base followers count of 1,200,000 so his future growth would not be as bad.

Besides, Lin Yu believed this was not his peak yet as he had the Level up ability and his future videos would only be more interesting. With this, it would be impossible for a burnout risk to happen.

A total of 94,856 EXP points while the gauntlets' third level only required 10,000 EXP points. Based on increments multiplied by ten, the fourth level would most probably require 100,000 EXP points, so this could only be described as only one tiny step left.

However, Lin Yu did not choose to upgrade it just yet since he had not studied enough about the Piston Gauntlets. The design for the piston cylinders was fine, but the controls were still a little complicated. The more he upgraded, the more complicated it would become. Till then, he would not be able to understand a thing.

It was rare for him to be interested in studying. Although he was slightly tempted to upgrade, he soon suppressed his temptations. Besides, he carried the gauntlets around with him every day, and upgrading something only took an instant so if he truly had to upgrade them, he could do so then.

For the Charge Blade, since he figured he had not uploaded anything onto B site for a week, he decided to make time for himself today to upgrade his Charge Blade and upload the video there.

The Charge Blade model increased by 80,000 views while the steel one increased by 100,000 views. Since the Gold plated Charge Blade only had a material difference, he never made a video for it. Due to this, he had casually gained 8951 EXP points and after spending 5,000, he upgraded the Charge Blade to level three.

With the effects that his third level Charge Blade brought, Lin Yu was helpless, to say the least.

A single statement that summarized the contradicting description would be that it had gotten heavier and lighter at the same time.

The LV3 Charge Blade also got a material change. Although there was no way to test its hardness and durability, its weight had increased slightly. The main body of the Charge Blade had not changed much but the main focus was on the shield plates.

With every upgrade the Charge Blade underwent, the shield plate would have the most changes. The first level gave it a chute, and the second expanded the plates outward with sharp horns on each side. The third added a thick round plate about an inch thick underneath the shield plate. There was a barbell-like plate that acted as a counterweight at the bottom.

That barbell plate was closely attached to the bottom of the shield plates and had combined with the pummel of what was originally the scabbard for the huge sword. Some motors and batteries had also seemed to be added onto it. Using the button on the handle of the shield plate or the button on the blade handle itself allowed the barbell object to rotate and stop. It rotated at a really high speed.

However, what was it used for?

When he first noticed it, he was completely stunned.

That round plate was situated at the bottom of the shield plate and calling it an electric saw would be inaccurate as it had no saw blades on it. Perhaps, it would actually hurt him before he had a chance to hurt others. It would be a huge stretch to call it a propeller though.

'Could it possibly be that if I spin it fast enough, I would not be affected by its full weight?'

He decided to take the leap of faith and test it out. All he did was a simple experiment and...the outcome was just as he assumed.

However, it did not actually lower the Charge Blade's actual weight and actually negated the weight all together. It did not generate any life force but instead, lowered the downward drag force and allowed Lin Yu to somewhat lift it up. The effect was more prominent when it was stationary at one spot and saved him plenty of strength.

Alright, it was used to save a person's strength and lifting it was still somewhat manageable. However, it was still very impractical for combat use. When he was swinging it, he had to hold back the rotation or he would be caught in the rotating wheel. Based on how fast the wheel spun, even nudging it a little would be a bloodbath.

Moreover, lifting it was not the only action which saved a person's strength as even swinging it downward would have the same effect. This made chopping an arduous thing to do. The right way to use this weapon would be pushing the button and then immediately stopping after the wheel began to spin whenever a chopping action was done. This would greatly increase the impact since the full weight of the Charge Blade would be weighed downward. According to Lin Yu's perspective, this was a troublesome yet an incredible hack tech.
