Usually I want to bash my head when I read Anime or Marvel fan-fictions and the MC's names are Chinese for no reason. Like Uchiha Tangwu, Uchiha Zongxuan, Hatake Shuowen... like, they are genuine clan members, yet their first name is incomprehensibly Chinese? And now this shit! In a Chinese novel, turn the MC's name into a western one? Like come on! Really breaks the immersion.
Foolishness runs in their family. Even if Watson was a normal person in his past life, his brain is malfunctioning now in this life. First of all, why did he even fuse so many chickens and gave birth to a gold tier chicken? Knowing that his family couldn't protect it, rather it would invite disaster to his family. Alright, after he did so, at least hide it? Why are they selling its eggs? Are other people foolish as well? Aren't they literally announcing to everyone in their area that they have a golden chicken? I don't think there is anything wrong with what Wesley said. If not him, someone else will rob Watson's family of the chicken, so why not him? And now, if he had the time to gather so many eggs for a fight, why the freaking heavens did he not fuse them BEFORE he came over??? Did he not say just a chapter ago that his cheat is a secret he'll never tell anybody? IN CASE the fusion of hundred eggs doesn't lead to a superpower (it will, because plot armor, but duh), these villains will tell everyone about Watson's power of fusion. And even if he does kill them with a plot armour superpower after a successful fusion, he can't kill his elder brother, can he? So at least he'll know! So yes, Watson is brain dead!
Why is it a sentient system? đđđ Only impersonal, emotionally dead, robotic systems, or better yet, a system that only has a panel and MC has to figure it out, is the best kind of system. Systems with intelligence are... as they say in Harry Potter, don't trust anything that is intelligent but you can't see where its brain is!
While you're trying your original twist, the fact is that this exact twist is a cliche troupe in many world-hopping novels. Either by mistake or by design, MC teleports/ascends to another world, becomes seriously injured when crossing the void, and meets some local forces who help him familiarise with the world. Saying that, this arc seems to be going in a good direction so far. I really am a bit frustrated by the fact that Leylin didn't clean up the teleportation altar or whatever it was. In this world of wizardry, how can he feel secure letting a corpse lay peacefully next to the altar? And that Gargamol or whatever giant spirit also died there, what if he placed a backhand? Like... MC isn't supposed to be perfect and should mess up, but this mess felt a bit too forced. As if the Heavenly Dao (you, author) blinded the MC's eyes for a while; the opposite of Deus ex Machina, or a plot armour; a self-damaging plot sword! Not complaining about anything else though. It's a superb fanfiction. It totally scratches my WMW itch đ
I wish he didn't have to kneel down and literally touch the bubble to absorb the attributes. That is so weird, suspicious and yes, weird, more weird. These things are better absorbed automatically, even through the shoes, when standing near them, and the collection radius increases as the cultivation realm rises.
If you want to pass time, you can read this novel. The translation quality is good so it feels smooth to read. However, don't expect any sort of intelligence from anyone in the story. They're all brain-dead. They all feel like machines programmed to do certain actions, and I'm not talking about the mechas. Especially the MC. With the cheat system he has, he could plan a bit better and without any risk to himself, become a top level force in the world. At the start of the novel, MC should have shown the strength of his mecha (level 1 of the internal force?) to the original elders of the Sirius Gang, instead of showing weakness, letting them openly rebel and then killing 'em off. Then, he would act like a normal gang leader, while his mecha could form a secret force who went around killing monsters and barbarians, buying low level herbs from all around the world, without ever showing himself to the world once. His cheat system gives him that option, so why not use it?
Given his obsession to experience true and realistic nature, it seems odd that he limited himself to a commercial VR. I'm sure he could've found, let's say, some shadier variety of VR that featured full sensory stimuli.
