well he has also a point.. 1. he was hired.. he is partially part of the guild... just like a company after they hired, what would they do? Give some briefings on what to do on when this happens.. they don't even have a contract... 2. the hunters lack skills and lack prep. just because iits a low level dungeon. porters are there to mine and carry stuff but they can't fight and its the hunters responsibility to protect them. imagine your afraid of the monsters and face to face with death, can you think straight other than surviving? if the bag is so heavy you would discard it to run faster obviously... if the hunters are more skilled they wont let that happen especially they are the one who hired them.

spears can be used for short range mid range and long range combat depends on how you wield it or your combat style.. bit it's pretty much a staff with a sharp end
Billy wondered why it was a staff with no tips. It seemed pretty silly not to have one since it was basically a weapon due to its weight and hardness.
