8 Unique Elements
The elements that were rarely seen from his past world was harnessed easily by Joan in his past life. Out of a hundred thousand people in the Almarian continent, there were only ten thousand people capable of harnessing such elements, and Joan was one of them.
These unique elements were the Spirit element, Poison element, Shadow element, Holy element, and Nature element. Due to how these elements were rarely seen and harnessed, they were classed as the unique elements.
From his memories, these elements were wielded with unique job classes. An example was the Necromancer and Rogue classes that uses shadow element to their skills. Without the element, the skills will be ineffective and would not be casted nor even mastered.
Job classes that fail to achieve the element needed for their skills will render them sub-par, or even useless due to being unable to use the said skills.
The reason that the [Heal] spell Joan casted to himself in the past battle on the man-eating tiger was casted successfully was because of the deep understanding and comprehension of Joan on his past life in Almaria, however it wasn't too effective due to the body that he had which doesn't have any elemental affinity.
Proceeding to the Unique elements, he readied himself for the cultivation. Still sitting in a lotus position, he then focused once again.
He first cultivated the Spirit element. With the Spirit essence, he cultivated it within himself. Imagining its feeling when he used it in the past.
He then managed to comprehend the element and it was quite tricky to handle it. It was fighting back the movement to his mana, as if it was a living beast struggling on being tamed.
He successfully absorbed it to his mana after minutes of fighting. It was a tough battle that almost consumed all his focus and willpower to make it his own, given that he had already exhausted a huge amount of mana from cultivating the basic elements.
With some trouble, he was able to have the first unique element. A pure and colorless burning fire on his palm emerged, he can see that the Spirit element was now tamed and in his grasp.
Next was the Shadow element. The element that was so rare when it comes to the Rogue classes.
Being able to harness this element makes the Rogue class reach far greater heights and even break the strength boundaries compared to a normal rogue without the shadow element.
This element was so special for him because it made him survive and escape many dangerous battles.
Its only problem was that the holy element can cancel it sometimes if the caster was greater than him in terms of power.
From what he remembered; this element was unlocked second only to the Holy element.
He had a hard time unlocking the element due to the Holy element that repels it.
Without wasting time, he cultivated the Shadow element. Not wanting for the hard-earned essence to go to waste.
He circulated the element inside his body around his mana well and Joan can feel its tingling sensation inside his abdomen.
It was a success on his part as he felt that his mana had absorbed it successfully.
After making it his own, he summoned the element to his palm as he opened it.
He cultivated and made the essence larger until it became a proper element.
Making a ball of black fire on his hands, seeing it made his heart utterly joyful. Making it like a prize for doing all his efforts.
The next element was the Holy element. This element was what they say the weakest.
But due to him unlocking his potential, he managed to be stronger than his peers.
He prepared to have greater willpower as the opposing shadow element will battle the incoming holy element that he'll cultivate.
As he cultivated the element, he could feel that the Shadow element was interfering with his cultivation.
Making it harder for him to cultivate. Joan began to focus more and more and started to calm his mind to stabilize the two raging elements, he was sweating profusely and was clearly struggling.
The two elements were eating each other and so, Joan cultivated both elements while making his mana absorb it at the same time.
By doing so, he made both elements to be supplied with mana to grow and not to die out. And at the same time to make the Holy element his own.
He made small progress towards absorbing it. Slowly but surely, he was taming the element.
He was on the verge of surrendering while multi-tasking, but he managed to pull it off in the last seconds.
Making him fail if he surrendered a second late.
Even though it was hard, he managed to stabilize the elements. He went to the kitchen afterwards to calm himself, drinking water hastily.
"This sure is hard to take but I managed to calm them both," said Joan while watching the bright Holy light on his palm.
He entered the room again and went to cultivate another element.
It was no other than the Poison element. He started to absorb the element and he can feel himself becoming weaker and weaker.
It was because he was still not immune to the element and started to feel nauseated and wanted to vomit.
He can feel the element being absorbed and so, he felt better and better as time passes by.
Cultivating it by making his essence becoming stronger and stronger until he can create a floating purple ball of poison.
He was struggling at first, but it was a success on his part. The only problem was he was getting tired to proceed in the last element.
He rested for a while to regain strength and then proceeded to the next element. The last one he must know–the Nature element.
He has the Nature essence inside him already, so he cultivated it. Succeeding by making the same procedure to absorb it.
With more efforts from his sheer will, he managed to create a green ball that has many leaves. He made the leaves encircle the ball as it floats around like the moon rotating around the Earth.
The green light emitted by the nature element made him smile in glee as he made it his own.
The element was now stable as he can see that he was not struggling to use it.
He can only giggle as he awakened all the elements. He stopped using the Nature element as his father woke up from his slumber.
"Hey, Joan! Are you still awake? What is that giggle of yours? Sleep now or I will spank you!" his father said to him.
"Okay, Dad! I will sleep," said Joan.
Thinking that he has all the elements, he can only giggle in his mind. Back in Almaria, he was the first person to have ever unlocked all the elements and moreover, some of the elements were even discovered by him. Mastering all the Elements was the key to mastering all the job class.
