It's one thing to be apprehensive about killing, but it's another thing to rather risk you and your companion's life for it. I would even accept it if he just let them hanging on the tree, naked, and let the nature take it's course whether they live or die, which is stupid, but he is stupid, but it make sense since he doesn't wan't to kill them, but he has to.

I don't mind the MC's stupidity on the first chapters because it made sense, as stupid as his decisions and actions were. But this takes the cake I get that it's cool to have character development but there should be a limit. The more stupid the MC are doesn't mean his future development of his "intelligence" will be satisfying since it's normal for others to expect him to already have a proper functioning brain. I'm dropping since I don't think the future "character development" will pay off the frustration this gives me, which is very common for stories that have MC as stupid as this.

He "saw" her blushing but cant even "see" her appearance. Cant even make up BS like feeling her qi, blood or whatever flow within her, reveals outline of her body/face, but he can make BS about noticing someone blush. Seeing someone blush is already hard for someone with a pair of eyes.
