61 Chapter 61: Secrets

Hello, Translator here. I will be posting a massive release today of 40 chapters finishing at chapter 100. After this mass posting spree I will be taking a break from this story for the rest of the week. I really liked this pace of two light days and one heavy day. I'm not sure if I will apply the same publishing pace to this book next week but we will see how I feel.

That being said chapter 61 - 100 had more than a few extra long chapters. I believe I got most of the repeating text / inconsistencies GPT has when processing those extra long chapters but I am 100% sure I still missed some. In an effort to avoid burn out I will publish what I've already translated and hope you all can make in chapter comments for where there are those obvious inconsistencies and repeats. Please avoid rude comments, just a simple "hey, this is repeating" is enough to get my attention to the matter.

As night fell, stars dotted the sky.

After dinner, Dan almost forgot that his brother-in-law, Fugaku, had arranged to meet him in the secret chamber of the Naka Shrine, saying there were important matters to discuss.

So he instructed Samui, "I have to step out for a bit. You should wrap up early and rest."

"Take care, boss."

Samui respectfully stood at the door, watching Dan leave the alley.

Then, her gaze turned cold. She immediately closed the gym's main door, returned to her room, and started organizing the heavy-duty intel she had gathered that day. She then summoned a ninja hawk to urgently deliver it back to the Hidden Cloud Village.

The moonlight was cold and clear.

Once again, he arrived at the Naka Shrine.

When Dan entered the underground chamber, a fire was burning in the brazier. Fugaku was standing with his back to him, looking at the stone tablet of the Uchiha clan, studying the words on it.

It seemed he had been waiting for a while.

"Dan, you're here."

Fugaku turned around, pointed at the stone tablet, and straightforwardly said to Dan, "I asked you here to show you this tablet. It's a revelation left by our Uchiha ancestors a thousand years ago for future generations."

"I can't understand the writing on it." Dan glanced at the tablet, seemingly uninterested.

Fugaku, however, gave a mysterious smile and beckoned Dan closer. "Come closer and look with your Sharingan."

Alright.

Dan didn't want to disappoint his brother-in-law, so he activated his Sharingan and focused on the rows of black text vertically inscribed on the tablet.

In his Sharingan's view, the mysterious characters suddenly started moving, twisting like tadpoles, without any discernible pattern, making them impossible to decipher.

"So it's a genjutsu," Dan commented.

"Correct."

Fugaku nodded, his eyes sparkling. "Who would have thought that our ancestors would cast a genjutsu on this tablet? Their technique has lasted for a thousand years, which is truly incredible."

He told Dan that the content of this tablet could only be read after breaking the genjutsu left by their ancestors using the Sharingan.

Under Fugaku's guidance, Dan successfully deciphered the beginning of the tablet's content.

It spoke of an ancient time when a woman named Kaguya Otsutsuki ate the chakra fruit from the God Tree and single-handedly pacified a chaotic world. Later, she became pregnant under the blessings of her people and gave birth to two sons.

This family was the common ancestor of all ninjas today.

From here, the text became unclear, shrouded in a layer of fog.

"An interesting myth," Dan commented after withdrawing his gaze.

"It's more than just interesting."

Seeing Dan's calm demeanor, Fugaku suggested, "Activate your Mangekyou Sharingan. Because only those eyes can see the truly valuable content on this tablet."

After saying this, he looked at Dan with an expectant gaze.

Back in the day, when Fugaku deciphered the subsequent content of the tablet using the Mangekyou, he was so thrilled that he couldn't sleep well for half a month.

He believed that Dan's reaction would be the same as his was back then.

Dan's expression remained calm, and several seconds passed without any movement.

He didn't have the Mangekyou Sharingan, so what was he supposed to look at?

If this continued, he would be exposed.

So, Dan turned around, standing with his hands behind his back, and said lightly, "No need."

"Why...why not?" Fugaku was taken aback.

Why not?

He couldn't exactly say that his Mangekyou was a fake, could he?

The persona he had crafted as Uchiha Dan was not one to back down.

"Because I've already seen it," Dan replied.

So that was it.

Fugaku understood. He had assumed that his brother-in-law had only learned about this secret chamber during yesterday's clan meeting. He hadn't expected that Dan had already been here.

With this in mind, Fugaku asked Dan another question:

"So, you already know that our Uchiha clan is actually descended from the Sage of Six Paths?"

"Of course."

Dan nodded.

Although he couldn't understand the text on the tablet, he was familiar with the original plot. Combining this with what Fugaku had just said, he decided to improvise a bit for his brother-in-law.

"The content of this tablet essentially says:

The Sage of Six Paths tamed the Ten-Tails, becoming its Jinchuriki. On his deathbed, he divided the power of the Ten-Tails into nine, creating the nine Tailed Beasts that exist in the ninja world today.

Furthermore, the Sage of Six Paths had two sons, Indra and Asura. They each inherited his eyes and body, respectively, becoming the ancestors of the Uchiha and Senju clans. Is that correct?"

Dan felt that his improvisation was sufficient, so he stopped.

After listening, Fugaku couldn't help but nod in agreement, remarking:

"Dan, your ocular powers truly surpass mine. The content you've seen on the tablet is much more detailed than what I saw. That being said... what are your thoughts on the fact that we Uchihas are descendants of the Sage of Six Paths?"

"Let nature take its course."

Dan replied with five words, as calm as a breeze.

Upon hearing this, Fugaku looked at him with admiration, even more impressed with his brother-in-law.

You see, when he first learned of his noble lineage, he too had become arrogant and conceited, even somewhat delusional.

Unlike Dan, who remained so composed.

"What a pity."

Fugaku glanced at the tablet again and added, "The content further in can't be deciphered even with the Mangekyou. It requires the Eternal Mangekyou."

"Eternal Mangekyou?" Dan pretended not to know and asked.

At this point, Fugaku's expression became solemn, and he revealed a secret to Dan:

"Yes, the Eternal Mangekyou. It can only be activated by transplanting someone else's Mangekyou Sharingan and merging it with your own. The closer the blood relation between the two, the higher the success rate."

"Is that so?"

"Because if this information were to get out, it would inevitably lead to clan members fighting each other for their Mangekyou. So, this secret has always been kept by the clan leader. The last Uchiha to activate the Eternal Mangekyou was Uchiha Madara, who transplanted the eyes of his brother, who was killed by the Second Hokage..."

Fugaku told Dan the reasons behind it and a bit of the history of the Eternal Mangekyou.

"Why are you telling me all this, which only the clan leader should know?" Dan asked, puzzled.

"Sigh." Fugaku sighed deeply.

Then, he explained to Dan:

"Currently, there are three pairs of Mangekyou in the clan. It seems powerful, but it's far from Madara's time.

Just as the power of the Mangekyou crushes the three-tomoe Sharingan, the power of the Eternal Mangekyou is a level above the Mangekyou.

If you possess such eyes, you can frequently use the Mangekyou's abilities and summon a more advanced form of Susanoo.

Moreover, after Madara activated the Eternal Mangekyou and deciphered the subsequent content of the tablet, he abandoned the Uchiha clan.

It seems he was pursuing even greater power.

And I believe that power is the Rinnegan, the eyes of our Uchiha ancestor, the Sage of Six Paths."

Oh?

Although Dan already knew this information, he still feigned surprise, admiring Fugaku's deductive abilities.

Fugaku looked intently at Dan and advised, "Dan, I'm telling you this because you have a better chance of activating the Eternal Mangekyou, and even the Rinnegan. Only with such eyes can the Uchiha truly be revived."

These heartfelt words clearly indicated that he was grooming Dan to be the next clan leader.
