This was an absolute hot steaming pile of garbage. I really tried to give it a chance, but there is no redeeming qualities for this novel.

Where'd your other comment go?
Smooth brain confirmed. You mentioned the state of the battlefield, which isn't currently available information as that happens a number of paragraphs down in the story, which I assume you didn't read before making the comment. The only currently available information is that the enemy forces outnumber his own, so please explain your idiocy.
I read the comment, but it is irrelevant, because everything you mentioned is in the future of the story. This was not information which was present at the time this comment was written. As far as it was understood, the enemy forces were a stronger fighting force with an extra knight. So if Heath had carelessly shown his strength, he would have to fight a knight. Which is the least desirable outcome. Him as a freshly advanced knight versus a knight with years of additional training, skills and better physical stats. That is an unwise decision to say the least. Especially when you are in the middle of a battlefield. Also, you say he could escape, but that isn't certain. He currently isn't aware of how strong the enemy knights are or how strong his sides knights are, but he is aware they are all stronger and more well trained than him. Drawing attention to himself could cause an early death. It is a extreme risk compared to the benefit.
