Liverpool is probably the only one able to challenge man city, but if you want a club he’s really going to have to pull his weight and carry then Man United. They were second during the 2017-2018 season, but 6th in the 2018-2019 season. Mourinho was the manager for the first 17 matches of the season before being sacked for losing 10 of the 17 matches they had by that point of the season. Could be a really good story line there.

I hope the gatekeeper manages to survive and break through, he’s one of the few characters I think could even give Rui a challenge.

True, that’s half of the story, I just thought the first half was way more engaging. The blue lock arc felt a lot more forced honestly. May have been the release schedule as well but honestly I barely remember the second half of this novel.

I think the story needs a rewrite for the Japan/Blue lock arc. Or ditch blue lock entirely until the NEL. You can have him join Barcelona and be Barca’s ace in the NEL.

He’s way stronger than canon blackbeard already, the only thing that canon blackbeard has over him is the gura gura no mi, but even then this blackbeard would stomp him easily. Munch munch fruit seems worse at first glance but it’s been stated in the novel to allow him to eat more devil fruits later, along with making his body stronger through what he eats. Canon blackbeard didn’t have his swordsmanship, the 6 styles, his darkness fruit awakening and improvements, his physical strength and was never shown to have conquerors haki, he might have it but I doubt it’s to the level of this novel’s blackbeard.

Knowledge of mythologies is fine, I think having the absolute bare basics of the DXD plot would be more interesting, or at least the basic premise. If he has an encyclopedic knowledge of the series it’d get boring really quick.

Hitting Rank 2 also works, if you want the dungeon to be a reoccuring thing you can have it temporarily force him to leave but with a key or something to get back in later on, for example when he hits peak rank 2 etc.

Have him at least get to peak rank 1 with 5 max proficiency skills before the dungeon itself ends instead of him choosing to leave. Otherwise people will be upset at not min maxing.
