Worlds Demonic Battlefront

Before, it was a peaceful earth. There were no powers. No one was special. There were no conflicts. Maybe besides a few wars here and there. Then it was opened. Demons came into our world. We fought back. We weren’t enough. Until the first person to awaken their manifest came forward. Its been over a hundred years since this war began. That is where we meet our main character, Konpeki Seiryu, who’s parents sacrificed themselves for him. With his “unknown” manifest, will he be able to drive the demons back? Volume 2, Chapter 1 - "Eggs?"

It was the same dark hallway.

There was a light at the end.

It took ages to get there.

It felt like years passed by.

I thought it was over. It was not.

There was a throne room. The same throne room from when I was unconscious by Baron V. Vlad's hypnosis.

Why was I here?

There was the same throne with a clad in armor. Then I felt a heavy pressure pressing me down onto the ground as if a giant stepped on me.

{Note : It is not the same clad in armor from Volume 1, Chapter 11}

It spoke. In a distorted voice that echoed in its helmet.

"You know, you shouldn't be here. Not yet anyway. However, I believe you should know who I am."

"What?"

I was struggling standing up.

"I am your–"

[BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP]

"Sigh."

Waking up to the sound of the alarm clock. Never gets old. Although, I kind of wished I didn't. That clad in armor seems to know who I am. And it said I was my– something. Anyways I didn't dwell too much on that anyways.

With our break now over, we're expected to go to the academy. I cooked up breakfast for the two freeloaders also living in my house and went to the academy with Ina. Dai joined up with us not long after.

It's been boring back at the academy. There was nothing noteworthy to mention.

Although, ever since break ended, there were rumors going around stating that me and Fujiwara were, "together". I guess someone who attended the academy saw us on our lunch date. Believe it or not, we aren't dating.

So, I've been getting weird looks from the goers around me.

"Mr. Seiryu. The headmistress requests your presence in her office."

"Huh?" Headmistress Lisagarte's Secretary. I believe his name was… Raiko?

"Raijin. Secretary Raijin. Also please hurry up to my master's office."

"Master?"

Dai and Ina were giving me confused looks and left me. Sigh. Those two.

I followed Secretary Raijin to Headmistress Lisagarte's office. He had white hair and wore a sort of a butler's outfit. We were then met by Fujiwara in front of the office.

"Ah hey! I didn't think you'd get called here?"

"So did I."

"Please go on in." Secretary Raijin interrupted us.

We went inside and– no one was in here?

[CRACKLE]

A white lightning then flashed in front of us and out came a silver haired woman around her mid to late 30's. The esteemed, "Storm Witch".

"Welcome Konpeki Seiryu. Welcome Fujiwara Suisei. Hopefully you two are doing well."

"Yes. We are." Fujiwara responded.

"Now, it's been a while since then but I wanted to congratulate you both for your accomplishments during the raid."

I looked over at Fujiwara and she started staring at the ground. It's like she regrets something she did during the raid. I already had a good idea on what was bothering her though.

"I wanted to thank you both. So for that, I procured these."

She signaled Secretary Raijin for the bag he was carrying. She dug in it to grab–

"Eggs?" What are we going to do with these? They're around the size of a normal chicken egg.

"Yes eggs. Now, these aren't ordinary eggs you see. These are unfertilized soul eggs. They are what's going to inhabit your soul beast."

"But isn't this a little too early? We aren't in our 3rd year yet." Fujiwara questioned.

"What's a soul beast?" I questioned as well. The 3 looked at me in astonishment.

"You don't know? Ah wait, I forgot. You're a first-year student." Headmistress responded. "I'll explain it".

Soul Beasts are creatures birthed by the very soul of its owner. Some are dogs, cats, birds, and even mythical creatures.

They are divided into 3 classes; Legends, Mythicals, and Hybrids.

Legends consists of Soul Beats that resemble creatures of esteemed lore. They do not have will nor sentience. However, they will develop it if its owner takes deep care for it.

Mythicals consist of Soul Beasts that utilize the essence of its owner's will and craft themselves. They, most of the time, will reject their owners if they are deemed unworthy and they will die fading away.

Hybrids consist of Soul Beasts that are formed by the owner's vision of their own soul and are created by the very essence of it. They also possess the ability to shapeshift into a humanoid figure while retaining their Beastly aspects. And because they are created by the very essence of their owner's soul, their personality is reflected by theirs.

However, there are rarely any Hybrid Soul Beasts.

"Did that explanation help?"

I got lost in the middle of the explanation. They could see it.

"In a brief term. Just imbue your soul into the egg."

She gave us both an egg.

"How do we imbue our soul into it?"

Headmistress Lisagarte responded, "Just relax and visualize your soul. Then imagine the egg. Have your soul go into the egg."

After I followed her instructions, it worked I think. I felt something happening on the palms of my hands. The egg was warm. It was previously cold but now it is warm. I guess it worked.

I looked over at Fujiwara and it looks like it worked for her as well.

"Now that you two imbued a part of your soul into the egg, I will have Secretary Raijin watch over them."

"Yes master." He responded.

We gave our eggs to Raijin as he bolted off. Literally with a crack of lighting and disappeared.

Now that I think about it, I think Raijin is Headmistress Lisagarte's Soul Beast.

(Evening at Seiryu's home)

"Sigh"

I was laying down on my couch facing up at the ceiling. Sagiri and Ina were out shopping. I think those two were definitely friends in a past life or something.

I was thinking back to the raid when I was fighting Vlad. He wasn't fighting to kill me I don't think. Even though he could have ended my lie easily, he just did not fight at full strength. And how he died, it was like someone was waiting, watching for something to happen.

"Sigh. Why am I still thinking about this?" I said while dozing off to sleep.

(In the throne room)

I ended up in the same place last time I dreamt this. Then the same voice echoed.

"Ah, so you're finally back. Before that alarm clock so rudely interrupted us, I was going to tell you something."

That's right. He was going to say he was my "something". However I thought of it as too much of a bother.

"Just what are you? And you said you were my "something?"

"Hmm. I am a knight. A remnant. A soul that has died and incarnated into another's soul. Essentially, I am your soul."

"So you were once a living person?"

If this clad in armor is the source of my power then–

"Yes. And in case you're wondering, I'm not your source of power. That role belongs to another."

"Another?"

The knight sighed and looked up at the ceiling.

"You have no idea huh?"

[WAKE UP]

"Huh? What's going on?"

"Seiryu, you said you'd make Onigiris for dinner!" Sagiri yelled in my ear.

Ah. I promised her this morning. When did they come back?

"Sorry Seiryu, Sagiri was a little impatient letting you sleep and waking up." Ina had her right hand on the back of her head while saying this.

"No worries."

Oh well, I guess I'll start cooking then.
