Worlds Demonic Battlefront

Before, it was a peaceful earth. There were no powers. No one was special. There were no conflicts. Maybe besides a few wars here and there. Then it was opened. Demons came into our world. We fought back. We weren’t enough. Until the first person to awaken their manifest came forward. Its been over a hundred years since this war began. That is where we meet our main character, Konpeki Seiryu, who’s parents sacrificed themselves for him. With his “unknown” manifest, will he be able to drive the demons back? Or will inner conflict disrupt his journey?

Volume 1, Chapter 12 - "Lunch is on me!"

(3 months later)

It's been a few months since the raid. We just finished our 1st semester of the year so everyone was on break. Well, not me. After listening to Vlad's story during the raid, I immediately started developing my abilities.

During our fight, he had the upper hand on me. He was much faster than Yoru when she used her Shadow Step. He probably could have killed me in a split second. Not to mention when Yoru ran away from the academy and confronted him for the first time.

Speaking of Yoru, there was no trace of her after the raid. After I had found Fujiwara unconscious, she hadn't said much to me. She was in the hospital for a couple weeks because of her injuries. I don't know what happened during their fight, but it affected her enough to reduce her to that state.

Meanwhile, Dai has been hanging out with the two Manifesters, Nicolas Arce and Dronikus Delrio. Ever since he took part in the raid with the two, he's been hanging out with them. I'm not jealous or anything, but I've gotten a little lonely lately.

Well I would say that, if it weren't for the 2 girls freeloading in my house. Sagiri and Ina have gotten close and every night is pretty much gossip about school. I can hear them through the walls.

Now, I'm in the training arena where I had my match against Shinji, developing my abilities. Speaking of Shinji, I haven't seen him around campus for a while. Not that I care for him anyway.

[RING RING RING RING]

"Hmm?"

I picked my phone and answered. It was Fujiwara. She said I owed her lunch. I can't believe she still remembered what I said. During her time in the hospital, she told me she couldn't bring her back, so I said I would take her to lunch whenever she felt like it.

I was pretty lame there.

(3 days later)

Where we were was pretty busy. Even on a weekday. I wore some casual clothing. A black t-shirt with a brand name on it that read "BLU DRGN". It had a western looking dragon spelling the words. I just wore black pants and had my pouch strapped around my shoulder to compliment my shirt.

I was running a little late to the meeting spot that we agreed on because of the two freeloaders residing in my home. Luckily Fujiwara was still there. Man, this feels like those stereotypical dates you read about in those stories.

Although I don't think this is a date, right?

I found Fujiwara sitting in front of a fountain. And she looks– how do you say it?

Elegant.

She wore a white shirt, complemented by blue streaks along the edge of her clothing. There was also another piece of clothing that went along with it. She also wore blue jeans to go along with the color scheme she was aiming for.

She had a hair clip near the top of her eyes separating her hair.

But

Something changed about her. She's still the same person I know, but something about her is different. I didn't notice it back then when she was in the hospital.

Her aura seems a little different.

"Hm? Is something wrong with my clothes? Or is my hair a little–"

"Oh no! You're really beautiful. I just haven't seen this side of you?"

She probably saw me looking at her weird, so I changed the subject and hurried us along with our lunch date.

(Fujiwara Suisei's POV)

There's nothing better than waking up in a hospital bed. I've been unconscious for a week, so I've been told.. I don't remember much of what happened after I– nevermind.

I feel guilty of having to end another's life. Especially since they were someone I cared about. I still feel it to this day.

I wasn't told what happened after the raid. All I've been told is that we subjugated the Nosferatu and that was it. I had questions as to what happened to their leader. After all, Seiryu went to go fight him.

During my time in the hospital, Yagami Dai and Seiryu visited me. Although I'm not sure, I think Yagami Dai has gotten pretty close to Nicolas Arce and Dronikus Delrio. They always come by together to check up on me.

Then there's Sagiri, Seiryu's younger sister, and the hyper Ina Watson. I don't know her all that much, but from what I heard from both Sagiri and Seiryu, she's a bright person. And apparently strong.

The Headmistress and her Secretary also visited me. It also dawned on me that the Headmistress had also come along on the raid, but she wasn't found anywhere. I assumed she had other pressing matters to take care of.

Then came Seiryu. The ever so kind person I look forward to meeting everyday. He had offered me that he would take me out to lunch, but I wasn't feeling up to it.

Lately I've been hearing a voice. It was my voice, but at the same time, it wasn't. It happens periodically. Once a day. Once a night. Notably during my sleep.

I tried to remember what happened after I killed Yoru, but I just can't seem to get it right. I know it has to do with her dying.

So, to take a break from that, I decided to call Seiryu.

(The day of the lunch date)

I quickly dressed myself. And I must say, I think I would also love me if I were another person.

[You already have, Fujiwara]

"Hmm?" Even though I lived alone, I looked around. It must've been the voice.

I arrived an hour early to the meeting spot. Although I don't know why, I felt the time pass by quickly. It could be my mind messing with me.

"Hey! Sorry I'm late! I had to deal with a couple of problems at home. Hopefully you didn't have to wait too long?"

He was finally here. He was 10 minutes late but I'll let it go. I mean, I arrived here around an hour ago.

"No worries. I just got here too." I said this with a heartwarming smile. I think I saw him blush a bit too.

"Alright. Well then, shall we go eat?"

I nodded and we went.

[Cherish him while you still can]

"Hmm?" I stopped to look behind me and saw the ghost of Yoru with her mask off. She was smiling, but I saw the sadness behind it.

"Something wrong?" Seiryu had asked, turning his head in my direction.

"No it's nothing. Let's eat."

Seiryu couldn't see her. I think I'm the only one who can see her.

We continued on with the lunch date, and everytime I look back, I see her slowly following us. I should be more afraid but I feel at ease. Yes. I killed her, but was she really dead?

I continued to think about this while we were eating.

(Konpeki Sieryu's POV)

"Hmm. You've changed."

"Huh?" She responded while jumping a bit.

"I mean, ever since you came back from the hospital, you haven't been the same. If it's about Yoru then–"

"I'm fine. Don't worry about me." She regained composure and resumed eating.

It was nearing the end of the date, and we returned to the meeting spot. We said our goodbyes for now and parted ways.

But

There's something weird that I keep sensing throughout the date. There was a peculiar aura following us. Everytime I use my Mystic Eyes, I keep sensing this same aura. In fact, I was quite familiar with it.

I decided that it was too much of a bother to think about.
