World Isekai Reborn- Tale of a Reluctant Savior

Author update!!!!! Still working on the next few chapters please be patient. Warning this is considered a first draft "I will be posting this story on RoyalRoad.com," https://www.royalroad.com/profile/331825 Trigger warning this is a dark fantasy novel recommended for 16+. Murder, R*pe (will be implied but not described), likely slavery, and much more dark themes (it will not be shown in a positive light, that would be stupid), but this world is not a happy one, and the characters will be put through the wringer. Morals will be tested. Ideologies threatened. Shit gets real :). Author out! So while at first, it seems that I am making something full of tropes using the isekai and monster invasion through portals subgenre. I plan to use these motifs as a backdrop and break some troupes and hope to Supersede the tropes of the genre as Overlord did for its genre. Synopsis So the worlds are merging, and they need to get stronger, Or at least that's what the robotic voice said. All she knows is they were given a couple of minutes to choose a class; if they didn't select one, it would be randomly assigned. Shortly after the countdown, portals worldwide opened, and hundreds of millions died in less than 30 minutes. The world suddenly seems quieter and more dangerous than ever. And this was just the beginning. Our story follows Trish, a raven-haired girl who is a senior in high school who always finishes her assignments in minutes so she can sleep in class. During the selection process, While everyone else in the class was freaking out and or picking their class, she was promptly asleep. When she finally woke up, she found out what was going on. She was a glitch, classless. Though She does Have a few unique things about her; for ex, she has all nonreligious elemental magics, a skill called “hard work” where she can repeatedly do actions to gain skills that are related to said action ex jumping 1000x and getting a skill for 2x to jump height, etc. And a title called “ not the one,” which has zero information. She also has a seemingly ordinary skill called “menu,” which allows her to see a video game-like display of people's statistics. This skill is highly temperamental and a constant source of annoyance for Trish.

Chapter 9 A Disciple+ A Two Piece= No Mountain?

Pov

Camila

The rain began to fall as soon as her foot connected with her disciple's face.

She looked up, and there were no clouds in the sky, and it was still sunny, but the rain was materializing out of nowhere.

The bright sunlight shone through the raindrops, making it look like golden diamonds were falling from the sky.

Seeing the rain caused her to blush, which was imperceptible due to her fur.

She took another look at the slumbering James, who was in a massive crater, his ass in the air and head in the dirt.

"Looks like I got a little excited and blew another hole in the ground," she proclaimed.

She sighed and hopped into the crater, gently falling to the bottom.

'I might need to change to a different field again. This hole can fit my entire house twice, side by side.'

She grabbed him by the collar of his gi. She yanks him out of the ground and tosses him over her shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

A sky-blue aura wraps around her legs. Then with one massive leap, she escaped the two hundred meters deep crater.

She clears the distance with ease even though he weighs thousands of pounds. When she landed, the very ground shook. Glancing at his arms, she sighs.

'You have so much aura, but your control of it is less than a novice.' She thought with mild wonder.

She placed her right hand towards the gauntlets and mentally pushed the rampant aura back to his void.

'His body is well trained, but it's like he never trained his aura before. ' She pondered.

Finally regaining consciousness, James feels something soft smacking him in the face. Opening his eyes, he saw a tail he knew all too well, and it was coming right at him.

Seeing the tail mere inches from his brow, James quickly moved his head to the left, barely dodging it. The tail made a whip-crack sound right by his ear.

"Ahem," James loudly clears his throat. Her tail stopped mid-swing; she glanced back and saw him staring at her tail.

Camilla's chin started to tremble, and her ears stood straight up.

She grabbed him by his legs and threw him with all her natural strength, causing a sonic shockwave.

Camila started to count down from ten while she started to stretch like she was about to go for a jog. She then raised her arms above her head and bent backward, cracking her back.

"That makes ten," she said to no one sounding chipper.

Pov

James

Pop! Crshkk!

Camilla threw James so hard that he was in the air for five seconds before James managed to land on his feat, but the force of the throw pushed him into the ground creating a crater like the one he face-planted into.

This time though, he stayed conscious but started coughing up blood. Growling in anger, James let out a roar.

He looked at the wraps around his arm. They started moving towards his legs, creating flat, heavy boots in three seconds. They seemed to understand that he was asking for more power and were willing to give it to him the more aura he fed them.

Five seconds pass of him pouring as much aura as he could into them, then the hair on the back of his neck stood up. Glancing upwards, he saw his tormentor, the fox herself, Camilla.

'She has golden rain falling around her like a goddess.' He shook his head to try and delete that from his mind. ' More Like a demon.'

"I demand a round 2 this time; I will not lose so pitifully." He demanded, Not even waiting for her response, and then he made five quick leaps.

He then lashed out with a diagonal kick to her chin, and she raised her right hand to block the strike. Every action was as if he was moving at a snail's pace.

Camilla was not expecting much from someone so slow, and with such lousy aura control, he was no threat.

The moment her hand grasped his foot, he poured every bit of aura he could gather quickly into what was once a gauntlet and now was a boot devoid of color with a purple aura with tiny balls of black mana circling it.

A massive weight change happened at the moment of impact.

THUD!!

His kick landed, making her backhand her chin sending her flying straight up.

Crack!

He gathers his aura into his fist, willing the wraps to make the gauntlet.

She fell head first, looking mildly surprised, and after seeing his fist coated in the dense aura, she decided to break her promise as her aura flared up and she glowed sky blue.

After a few seconds of gathering as much aura as possible, the rising hair on the back of his neck told him one thing.

The moment has arisen; he swung a firm, fast right straight.

His fist moved so fast that the air caught fire around it; it connected as soon as the whites in her eyes were visible.

KAboom!!

On contact, an explosion of force sent her flying hundreds of meters directly into a mountain. Which barely stopped her fall. The mountain that once stood as Large as Mount Everest was now no more than a twenty-five-meter hill of rubble.

"What the fuck!! I…, that doesn't make sense. How is the mountain fucking gone!" He was so stunned that he forgot he was in a fight for a second.

The pile of rocks that covered Camila ceased to exist as she stood enveloped in her light blue aura without a scratch. Before James could tell, she was alive. She had already knocked him out with one chop to the back of the neck.

Pov Camilla

"The damn fool is going to ruin his body or worse with that careless use of aura," irritation staining her sultry voice. She stood staring at James's right arm, which was a wreck.

His once deep russet-toned arm was now completely purple, and pouring blood from where his bones stabbed through his skin. In just seconds it started to swell to twice the normal size.

She placed her palm just above his shattered arm. A blue flame appeared in her palm and shot to James's arm. The flame spread around his arm then a tiny piece went to his forehead.

Her eyes became fierce, and her brows knitted together tightly.

'A head wound as well; this will not be as easy as I thought. Bones, blood, and organs are easy to fix, but the mind is much more difficult.' she thought, worried.

She pumped more of her aura, and with masterful control, she guided her aura to the damage he got from being knocked out multiple times.

'I shouldn't have hit him in the head because he didn't protect his internals with aura. If I don't train him, he will die by an enemy stronger than him or misjudging his aura output capabilities.' She thought, reconfirming her conviction.

When the healing was done, his eyes opened, rolled into the back of his head, and he screamed in agony.

"I can heal all the wounds, but you need the pain to understand what you did wrong, and so you can grow." She consoled him with a soft voice.

"You can't properly control your aura, and because of that, you broke every bone in your arm. You need me to train you, or you and your friend will die. I know you have a mission, but until you defeat me, you will not be leaving" She raises her palm her aura glows brighter and brighter.

James had no clue what she was doing but knew she was right; he was weak, and he couldn't save anyone as he was.

James glanced at Camila "Stop doing whatever you are about to do, I accept. Not like I have many choices anyway. I know you let me hit you, and I never stood a chance, did I? James relented, his mood sinking with every word.

She looked at him with kind eyes and a warm smile that slowly turned into a half-smirk.

"I did require some aura to block your last strike; I could have dodged it, but what would be the fun in that?" She teased, and the smirk never left her face.

Now let's get back to your friend who is just napping. There are chores and training to be done, and I will send letters out far and wide to my associates for word on your friends, so don't worry.
