Jerry the Creep

Kai sighs as he stands in front of the medication cart. He takes a deep breath as he begins to pull the pill packs with the thyroid pills for the residents who take them in the mornings.

He noticed Liam and Nancy had already gotten up and started their last round. It wouldn't be long before it was time to give a report then go to breakfast.

Kai placed Bob's, a resident in room A2, thyroid pills in a cup. He then walked down the long hall and gently knocked on the door.

"Bob, Kai addressed the man as he walked in. The room was dark, so he flipped on the dim hall light. 

He approached the bed and noticed the thin, geriatric man was still asleep.

"Bob. I have your thyroid pill," Kai announced. 

The bald old man turned in his bed. Kai raised the head of the bed to the semi-fowler's position, then handed him the cup.

The man took the pill in silence and threw the cup on the floor. "Yeah."

Kai shrugged. "Thank you. Have a nice day."

Kai left the room and flipped off the light. When he got back to the hallway, he noticed Liam pushing the hover lift into Jack's room.

As Liam pushed the frame into the room, he blew a kiss at Kai.

Kai smiled and went into room A3 to deliver the thyroid pill.

He entered the room and found the resident sleeping. As he set the pills down, the woman's eyes popped open.

Kai jumped back, startled.

The woman smiled. Her dentures fell out of her mouth. They fell into her chest, between her breasts.

Kai stared at the woman. He could see her gums.

She smiled, revealing the black abyss inside her mouth. It was deep and mysterious.

"Want to join me in bed, honey?" The woman named Susan asked.

Kai grimaced. He hated it when residents hit on him. It always made him feel uncomfortable. It was something that came with the job, though. Women had to deal with dirty old men while the male employees got the woman's attention. Thankfully, women tended to be less physical with their flirting.

"No, Susan," he sighed. "I have a lot of work to do."

The blonde took a step closer and grabbed the woman's pill. He held them out to her.

Susan took the medication and popped them into her mouth. She grabbed her cup of water and took a big drink.

Kai backed away. He didn't want to get close enough for her to grab his ass. She had done so before.

Susan looked the blonde over. "Mm."

"Thank you," Kai smiled awkwardly and waved.

Susan smirked then grabbed her dentures and popped them back into her mouth.

It was magical.

Kai turned around and quickly left the room. He wasn't going to hang around to get a glimpse at what was hanging out inside the dark, gummy crevice. 

He walked down the hallway and approached room A1. He knocked on the door. He heard a voice telling him to come in.

As he opened the door, he was surprised to find the resident's son sitting in a chair. The son was someone with whom Kai had interacted a lot in the past. He always made the hairs on the back of his neck stand.

He would often come up to the cart in the evenings and get uncomfortably close as he asked about his mom's care.

"Hey, beautiful," the man stated as Kai walked into the room.

Kai internally groaned but flashed the man a professional smile. He had no idea Jerry, the son, had spent the night. He had remained out of sight. 

Jerry smiled as he stared at the blonde.

Kai took a deep breath and approached the man's mother, Betty.

He handed the woman her pills. She took them and cuddled under the blankets. She closed her eyes. She had a gift that allowed her to fall asleep instantly and sleep through anything.

She was a very sweet woman who moved in after her husband died. She battled with depression and had mobility issues, so she wasn't able to take care of herself anymore. She always had the sweetest smile, but Kai knew she used it to mask her pain.

He couldn't believe such a sweet woman had such a creepy son.

Kai flashed the woman a fake smile.

"Hey, what about me?" Jerry asked as he licked his upper lip.

Kai's head snapped towards Jerry. He was definitely a creep. Who even licks their lips like that? The nurse felt like he was being sexually harassed. 

Jerry flashed him a grin. It was wide and cheesy, like he had a plan in mind.

Kai quickly backed away from the man. He didn't want to be anywhere close to him.

"You know, you're really pretty." Jerry said in a low, husky voice as he stared at Kai.

"Thank you," Kai smiled politely, even though it was difficult to not tell him to fuck off.

"Are you Japanese?" Jerry purred in his direction.

"Uh, half," Kai uncomfortably answered.

"Maybe I should give you my number," Jerry suggested with a sly grin.

"Um, no," Kai mumbled, slowly backing away towards the exit.

"I don't believe that," the man grinned.

Kai looked away. He was visibly uncomfortable, but he didn't want to be rude.

"Here, let me get my phone," the man stated as he reached for his phone.

"No, thank you," Kai sighed, placing his palm against his face. 

"But why not?" the man asked with a lopsided grin.

"Because I'm not interested," Kai replied.

"How do you know if you're not interested if you haven't even given me a chance?" Jerry asked as he tried his best to get the phone number of the cute, young nurse.

"Look, I'm not interested, okay?" Kai remarked, shifting his position where he stood.

"Why not?" the man asked. "I'm a good man."

"Because I have a boyfriend," Kai lied. It was the best excuse he could think of to get out of the room.

"So, who's your boyfriend?" The man asked with a look of curiosity and disbelief.

"Well..." Kai froze for a moment. "You wouldn't know him."

"What, you can't tell me?" Jerry asked, probing into the nurse's personal business.

"No, I don't like talking about it," Kai mumbled.

"Oh, so he's a secret." Jerry laughed.

"No, he's not," Kai replied.

"What does he look like?" Jerry asked as he wondered what kind of competition he had.

"Uh, I don't know," Kai muttered.

"How do you not know what he looks like?" Jerry asked dryly.

"I just don't," the blonde mumbled.

"That's weird," the man laughed.

"Look, can we just drop this, please?"

"No, tell me more about him," the man grinned.

"There's nothing else to say," Kai sighed. "Look, can we just drop it, please?"

"No, I'm not going to drop it," Jerry said as he stood up from the chair.

"What are you doing?" a voice asked. 

Kai and the man turned to find Liam standing there. He towered over the nurse's svetled frame. Just having him stand there made Kai blush. He had hoped Liam didn't overhear the entire conversation.

"Oh, um, nothing," the man stated.

"Then, what's going on?" Liam asked with a scowl across his face.

"He was asking me questions," Kai replied nervously.

"What type of questions?" Liam inquired. He wasn't getting a good feeling about the situation.

"Personal ones," Kai answered.

"I don't understand what the problem is," the man said. "The conversation is a private matter between me and the nurse. I don't need a professional ass wiper getting in on it."

"The problem is you shouldn't be asking personal questions of my boyfriend," Liam stated.

"Boyfriend?" The man's eyes widened. "Seriously?"

"Yes, boyfriend," Liam confirmed. "He's my sweet, little pumpkin."

" I didn't know," the man stammered. He quickly returned to the chair. He was clearly intimidated.

"That's not an excuse," Liam stated.

"I'm sorry," the man apologized.

"Whatever," Liam huffed and left the room.

The man sighed and held his face in his hands. He had missed his chance to get with a sweet, young nurse.

"Ummm, I'm going to go," Kai mumbled.

The man nodded. "See you later."

Kai walked out of the room and found Liam waiting for him. He glanced up at the CNA's blue eyes and let out an exaggerated sigh. He noticed Liam was frowning.

"What's wrong?" the blonde asked.

"You shouldn't have to deal with that," Liam sighed. "It's not right to be harassed at work."

"Deal with what?" Kai shrugged.

"Creepy guys are hitting on you," Liam replied. "It's gross."

"It's not a big deal," Kai shrugged.

"It is a big deal," Liam huffed.

"I've been dealing with it for a while," the blonde replied. "There's always going to be family members trying to get in a nurse's pants."

"You shouldn't have to," Liam huffed.

"But, it doesn't bother me," the blonde said.

"I don't like it," Liam grumbled.

Kai sighed and scratched his temple. He smiled softly and looked toward Liam. "Thanks for saving me there."

Liam blushed at how gentle and cute Kai looked in the moment. He knew he had a major crush on the nurse. He couldn't help it.

Liam cleared his throat and smiled.

"It was no problem," Liam replied.

"You're so sweet," Kai grinned.

"I try," Liam smirked.

Kai smiled and headed toward the medical cart. He still had some work to finish before the day shift nurse came in.

"Can I ask you something?"

"What?" Kai asked as he pulled out more medication.

"Why'd you lie in there?" Liam asked, resting against the side of the cart.

"Lie? About what?" Kai asked, playing dumb.

"That I'm your boyfriend," Liam replied.

"Oh, well, he was giving me a hard time," Kai answered.

"What do you mean?"

"He was getting really pushy about wanting my number and stuff," the blonde answered.

"Why did he want your number?"

"Well, because he wanted to, uh, date me," Kai stated.

"He wanted to date you?" Liam asked, obviously concerned for the nurse.

"Yeah," Kai sighed.

"I NEED HELP!"

A familiar voice called out as she walked quickly down the hall.

It was Kenna, a tall, pretty female nurse with brown hair and hazel eyes. She had a nice figure and a septum piercing.

She worked on the rehab unit in the building. These were where the facility stuck the residents who were doing physical therapy and would get strong enough to go home.

She approached Kai and touched his arm.

"Maria pulled out her catheter, and I need help anchoring a new one."
