4. The Meeting Part 2

Angelica slowly walked out of the kitchen before making her way to the group who was setting up the small table. "Excuse me. Drevan, Corey. Why are you two setting up such a small table?" She asked the two curiosity ever so evident in her voice.

"Your mother ordered us to set up a table for three, for tonights meeting." Drevan said with a lopsided smile to the girl. "Don't worry too much about it, she believed our guest would feel more comfortable with a small crowd surrounding him."

Frowning she tilted her head somewhat at the explanation she was just given. She was beginning to find to approaching meeting even odder by the second. And what was to be discussed and who would be there made her curiosity grow even more.

"Uh oh I know that look." Corey chuckled as he finished setting up the table affixed with golden silverware and beatifully made china between them. "If you want to go ask your mother about it, she is currently in her room getting ready for the big event." He said before sticking his tongue out at Angelica playfully.

Angelica stuck her tongue out in retort before openly laughing at herself and at the older vampire before her. She adored the easygoing nature of both of them. It made them so much easier to be around. Compared to the rest of her family who all ended up being strict when it came to matters of teaching and survival. Or just anything now that she put more thought into it.

"So are you going to let your curiosity kill the cat or are you gonna stand around here and wait for the guest to arrive?" Corey asked as both he and Drevan began to walk away towards the kitchen, eventually leaving her alone in the dining hall with the small table for three.

Letting her curiosity with the situation grow beyond her control she quickly made her way through the large manison and to the room in which her mother currently resided. Stopping before the dark oak door she caught her breath before gently knocking on the door. As she waited a few moments with no answer, she knocked again this time just a bit louder than the last.

"I know it is you behind the door my love, why don't you just go ahead and enter?" The voice of her mother sang from the otherside of the door a bit muffled.

Not waiting a second longer Angelica pushed her way into her mothers room and stopped at the sight of her mother standing in the middle of the room in a long navy colored silk dress with matching earings. And the room they stood in was the master bedroom of the mansion. Easily as big as four bedrooms put together. The walls were a teal color that complimented the rest of the house, and unlike her office there were paintings and drawings. Instead of trophies from defeated enemies and game.

Each portrait was of members new and old of the family that had lived with them for several years and were all important to her mother. She held every single one of them in the higest regards, even if it sometimes led to her having to do things she never wanted to do.

Turning Jadamine smiled to her daughter before clearing her throat. "Is the food for tonight prepared to your standards dear Angelica?" She asked in her normal sing-songy tone.

"The feast for fifty has more than been completed. But I do have a small question about that mother." Angelica responded with a proud nod. She loved the fact that her cooking could bring people pleasure. And she took pride in it.

"At least fifty people will still eat all that amazing food you cooked. Just For the meeting between us and Julius, I wanted it to be a much smaller group when I talk about uniting our two clans together. And surely you will be seated next to me won't you love?" Jadamine smiled to her daughter as she placed a gentle hand on her cheek. "Now you need to go and get ready before our guest arrives. We don't want you looking and smelling like food."

Nodding Angelica gave a polite bow to her mother she made her exit from the room and down to her own. Upon entering she went straight to her closet and pulled out a nice blue and gold formal dress. She then set it upon her bed before turning and grabbing some lingerie from her dresser and hurrying into her bathroom to ready a bath.

Jadamine stood alone in her room after watching her daughter leave not moments ago before she sat down at the edge of her bed letting out a shakey breath. Now the she was alone, she could let the facade she had been keeping up for the last several hours. She had her doubts on whether the young Vampire lord would even agree to what she would have to say on the matter of uniting the two households.

Would he even accept Angelica's hand? Would he even accept the bond he could make with her and the rest of the Xeres family? These were the thoughts that were threatening to drive her insane.

From what she had been told already by her informants. The humans were beginning to become far more dangerous with the more they began to advance with their technologies. And at an alarming rate at that.

Looking up as another knock at her door dragged her from her thoughts she stood straightening out her dress before calling out. "You may enter"

As soon of the words left her lips the door opened to see one of her doormen breathing heavily as he looks at her with a bewildered look. "The guest is here madam" He said attempting to catch his breath as Jadamine was sent into high gear.

"Go and make sure Angelica is ready for the meeting. I will go and great our guest personally." Jadamine spoke as she walked past the doorman and to the door where another was waiting. Without hesitation Jadamine waved her hand for the doorman to open the door for the guest.

"Good evening Mister Julius Morave. I have been expecting you. Hope you came with a hungry stomach, because we have a long night ahead of us" Jadamine spoke with a smile as she greeted the man before her.
