"Get out."
"Why?"
"I'm not giving you a triple shot long black."
"Why not?"
"It's two am!"
The day was long. Shi hated it when she was forced to deal with multiple karens in one day, all of them complaining about how it wasn't sweet enough and then complaining about how it was too sweet, it was annoying. Shi looked at the clock and shook her head, she now had to close. Her after noon shift was now over and the shop wouldn't be open until ten at night.
Cleaning down the benches and tables she turned off the lights and locked the door as she started to clean the coffee machines, humming softly to herself, calm and for once relaxed. She sadly had to leave the peace in the closed coffee shop, walking towards the door, she found a note. It was a small pink bit of paper with a phone number on it, it looked like it had been dropped by accident– or at least Shi thought it had been.
With a sigh she picked it up and closed up the coffee-shop, she'd most likely throw away the paper anyways…
Shi:
Hello! I just wanted to let
you know that I found your
phone number on the
ground in
Minnlina Coffee shop
Did you drop a bit of
pink paper?
Mat:
Oh, hi! Sorry, that was..
something.
I kinda need that back.. soo
can we meet up maybe?
sometime?
together?
Shi:
We're going to be 'together'
To meet up, you know?
We can but it will have to be
Like tomorrow or
something.
Mat:
Ah right, yeah.. I guess that is
BUT YEAH tomorrow works
for me
if that's fine with you
I'm fine with it..
Shi:
Im working the night shift tomorrow;
1-5am, I won't be able to talk before my shift
Because I most likely will be at school
Or with my brother throughout the day.
Mat:
Oh.
Ah that's fine, I'll just visit
at some point
during your shift
Shi:
How will I be able to tell that its you?
Mat:
I'll order a triple shot long black
the one I always order 😊
Shi:
I won't be giving you that at 1-5am.
That's not healthy.
Mat:
I'll still order it anyway…
Shi:
Don't expect me to make it.
The next night Shi was alone, it was two am and she was just sitting on her phone, waiting for someone to come in so she could get back to work, she sighed and placed her phone on the counter, laying her head down on the cold, marble stone. The bell above the door rang out and made Shi jump up, waiting for the person to come over.
"Could I have a…" they paused and smiled at her "triple shot long black?"
Shi got to work, making them a hot chocolate instead and handed it to them with a pink paper.
The person took a sip. "I wanted a triple shot long black-"
"No."
"Why-"
"No."
"But-"
"Get out."
"Why?"
"I'm not giving you a triple shot long black."
"Why not?"
"It's two am!"
