Chapter 35: The Gods Of This World Are Really Active

The mayor and his aide stopped talking as they looked at the man who had just barged into the mayor's office unannounced as if he owned the place.

He was wearing the standard robes of the temple that worshipped the god of the divine, Celeste.

"Don't you dare invite those heretics." The man repeated again as he sat down comfortably on the chair facing the mayor's table.

"Ah, Master Randolph, it's good to see you." The mayor was greeted with a fawning look on his face, and his aide at the side just nodded his head at the old man.

Master Randolph just nodded his head and continued. "The temple would send some of it's researchers and some personnel to come and investigate what had just happened to the slime dungeon and if the same would affect the others." He folded his arms as his legs were spread wide open. He was sitting like an elder who was part of one of the biggest organisations in the world.

The Temple of Divine was known as the biggest religion in the world, as the goddess they worshipped was always actively helping them.

Unlike on earth, where the gods were divided into different pantheons and religions, the gods of the Ravians were more united... Well, that was actually on the surface, as wars between gods and their believers were actually a common occurrence in the world.

There were three major gods in the Ravians and other minor gods in this world.

Just like on earth, there was, of course, some separation between them at some point in time, but all that was fixed by the current god queen of Ravians.

Hearing what Master Randolph said, the mayor's eyes lit up like a light bulb as he looked at his aide.

"Cough, where are my manners? Would you like a drink or something else?" As the look of a bootlicker was written all over his face as he gazed at Master Randolph, the old man, of course, was a bit creeped out by this as he moved uncomfortably in his chair.

It is a bit surprising, but the old man was not used to the way others always tried to bootlick him by offering him drinks, sometimes gold coins, and the like, and that made him feel uncomfortable as the people in the temple were more free and did not care about 'wordly things' as they normally called them in their circle.

They had fully given their hearts and souls to the goddess Celeste.

'May his soul be saved' The old man uttered in his heart as he rejected the mayor's offer and quickly left the office, for fear of being tempted to take something that the mayor might offer.

Seeing how the master was running from something, the mayor and his aide just looked at each other and shrugged her shoulders as they had their own reasons why the master left.

"You see, there was nothing to worry about." The mayor said with a relaxed expression that what happened to their dungeon was under his control the whole time.

The aide just rolled his eyes as he left the mayor to continue to defend himself. Their relationship was not that of master and servant but more like friends, so his aide was more free to do things like this when they were alone, but he was professional in public.

Back in the dungeon.

Diakonos and Khuubat were now looking at the person who had just entered that dungeon.

Seeing the woman, they both had one thought. 'Demigod!'.

In the world of Ravians, demigods were not surprising to see, as they were considered the pinnacle of the mortal realm—people who caught the eye of a god who decided to bless them and make them a demigod that could control part of their concept.

These demigods, of course, are not that bored to start entering dungeons, as they also knew of the world's plan of using the dungeons as a way to strengthen its inhabitants and make them powerful to fight the realm menace.

"How did she enter, I closed of the dungeon." Khuubat muttered at the side in shock; this caught Diakonos's attention as she looked at Khuubat.

"You closed your dungeon?" She inquired with shock.

"Yes, but I am really surprised that she was still able to get in," Khuubat responded as she started biting her fingers with anxiety.

"Then throw her out then!" Diakonos also felt that the situation was slightly getting out of hand, as even though she was in a ring form and had her eyesight deprived from her, she was still able to hear, so she knew of the accusation that Doron made about them being targeted by a god of this planet.

They had not yet thought of how to go against these gods, but now they have to face demigods too. They will just get killed with their numbers alone before they are even attacked by them.

"I... I can't; I can only control the people in the dungeon's minds and the exterior of the dungeon; if I could, I would have prevented the illusion magic from affecting them," Khuubat slowly explained as she looked at the screen that showed Doron and the others that were now just lying down on the floor, looking at the ceiling, as their bodies had calmed down after the illusion had stopped rampaging through their bodies.

"So all we can do is hope that one of them can break out of the illusion and wake the others?" Diakonos asked with concern as he looked at the group, which looked like they would not even be able to protect themselves from even a fly at this moment.

"Yes," Khuubat said as she sat down on the ground and looked at the screen.

"Can't I just corrupt the slime core? I sensed that it has not yet awakened its sentinence," Diakonos proposed.

"It won't work."

"Why?"

"It has been blessed."

"..."

Khuubat just looked at the screen and frowned. She could not connect to the mind dimension in which she placed Doron and the others minds, as that was a dimension that she could not enter but could only send certain commands, but these commands must not be too demanding.

This was how it worked. Imagine filling a glass with water in a dark room where you can't even see a metre in front of you. The only way to know that the cup was full was when the water overflowed. That was how the communication worked.

She won't get any feedback at all until she feels that the commands she had been inputing gave her feedback by spilling over and that the feedback that she needed was one of them, either Doron, Iris, or Patra wakes up.

But now, as she is filling the cup, some keep using a straw to suck all the water out of the cup, so it is now a battle of how fast the cup can be filled and how fast the cup can be drained.

That was already draining her; now someone else had entered their battlefield and was now making their way to her with the intention of breaking the glass cup.

Diakonos, after hearing what Khuubat said, just stood there dumbfounded as she looked at the new screen that Khuubat had conjured, which showed a woman with light green hair who was wearing armour that tightly fitted her carvacious body and highlighted her curves.

The armour looked like it was made to seduce more than defend, as some parts were completely open, like her chest and her thigh area, and if Doron were awake right now, he would actually be wondering if the armour was not actually a swimsuit—a very metalic swimsuit.

The woman was of course beautiful; just like all other demigods, her expression was that of annoyance, as it could be seen that she was annoyed for being sent to such a low-level dungeon to kill some mortals.

"Her diviness should better compensate me more for this," she muttered under her breath as she made her way through the forest of the dungeon.

"Where is the bloody portal to the next floor?" she complained again as she looked around her surroundings, completely ignoring the small slimes that had come towards her after sensing a powerful enemy in their domain.

In the mind dimension, Iris, who was now in the embrace of a man whose face, for some reason, was blurry, saw some lines of text appear in front of her that made her pause her movements while drawing circles on the man's broad chest.

[P.s keep up the good work. If you are in an illusion, wake the fuck up!]

Iris read all the text, and when she got to the last part, she could not help but think.

'Am in an illusion?'

The sound of glass breaking was heard as Iris woke up looking at the ceiling that was familiar and not at the same time.

She slowly stood up and looked around and saw that Doron and Patra were just looking up at the ceiling with a blanck look on their face.

"What happened?" She asked nobody in particular as she made her way to the Doron and Patra with the plan of waking them up.

Meanwhile, Diakonos and Khuubat were now hugging each other with a happy expression on their face as they jumped around with a happy smile.

"YAY!!!"

They both yelled happily, after their little celebration, they finally calmed down and thought of what to do next as they looked at Doron and Patra who were now waking up with lost looks on their faces.
