Missing

Helen drove her car to the garage and turning the heads light off also cooling off the engine. She came down with her bags and closed the door behind her. She locked the car with the car keys button and approached the front door of the house. She was pretty exhausted from work today and all she needs was rest. She dropped her car keys at the ceramic brown and hold her jacket on the hook beside the doors. She went straight into the kitchen and walked to the refrigerator to get hydrated. She gulped down a bottle of water and took another. She closed back the refrigerator and walk down to the living room.

"Rory...is that you?" Ben said from upstairs, approaching downstairs with a shortgun. He kept it away seeing that it was Helen.

"Good gracious, you scared the hell out of me"

"Sorry."

"I thought it was Rory"

"He isn't back home?" Helen asked curiously.

"Yeah. I guess he might still be at Neil's house."

"For a whole day and hours? Without giving a call? That's unlike Rory."

"He's fine." Ben assured her.

"I don't think so. I'd better call him."

She took her phone from her bag and dailed his number. She placed the phone to her ears expecting a ring but it was diverted into voicemail.

"It's Rory. Leave a message but I'll probably never listen"

"What's wrong?" Ben asked Helen who was now worried so much.

"Voicemail. Rory has never placed my phone calls into voicemail"

"Leave a message then"

She dailed his numbers once more. It went to voicemail but this time, she left a message.

"Hey baby. Where are you? I've not set my eyes on you since last night. Call me after you get this okay?''

"Now you don't have to be worried. He'll call" Ben assured her again after she was done leaving a message for her. "In the main time, why don't you go take a fresh bath and wash off the office stress on you and I'll fix you something to eat uh?"

Helen smiled and fell into his words. She followed what he said and did exactly all of it but her mind wasn't settled. She was thinking all of Rory. She kept gazing at her phone to see if she had a missed call but nothing. It was still the same.

She tried his number once more after taking dinner with Ben. It was still voice mail.

"Rory, this isn't funny. Call me now" She said almost in anger.

She was paranoid. She kept walking round the living room expecting a call from Rory. Why would he leave without calling her. This is so unlike him.

"Did you two get into a fight?" She asked Ben.

"Really Helen? Why would I get into a fight with Rory?"

"Then why isn't he picking up and answering my messages. I've sent him tons of SMS and voicemails. He should have seen them by now"

"Why don't we try his friend."

"Great idea" she picked up her phone and checked if she had Neil's number. Thank Goodness she has it. She dialed it and called it. She placed the phone to her ears once more. This time, there was a ring. First Ring... Second Ring...Third Ring....and at the fourth ring, Neil picked up his phone.

"Neil, this is Helen, Rory's aunt"

"Well good evening Mrs Finn. How are you doing ma'am?'

"Very well. Please, Is Rory there with you? I've been calling his phone all day but it's going to voicemail."

"Rory? I was hoping to come see him tomorrow at your place. Rory hasn't been with me since today. He didn't show up for school and I was wondering what might happen. I tried calling him but it was diverted to voicemail too. I left him a message though. Isn't he with you?"

"I haven't seen him since today. I thought he had a sleep over at your house."

"Rory left my house yesterday evening. He didn't come back since then."

"Then where the hell is Rory!? Where would he be?"

"I'll try contacting him again."

"Please do. And if you get hold of him, tell him to come back home asap."

"Okay ma'am"

"Rory's not there?" Ben asked after the call. Already, Helen was sweating profusely.

"He hasn't seen him Ben. He didn't show up for school."

"What? Where the hell did he go?"

"Rory would never go anywhere without telling me. I'm afraid it has come to this, Rory is missing. Oh gosh, what would I do?"

"Okay, first we have to head to the Justice Force to report a missing child."

"Now?"

"Now. C'mon let's go."
