A bet and a deal.

It was 4:30pm now and I am just sitting in the garage all alone. It's getting late and I won't want to be caught up here in the dark. I have to go to Neil's house.

I texted waiting for a reply. Knowing Neil, he always answers my message so quick.

💬Yeah. Any Ish?

💬Uncle sent me out of the house. He said I should be home till 8 and if probably, have a sleepover

💬 Alright. The woods is the only route available. Like I said, main street is on renovation.

I wore my jacket and put my phone on sleep. The woods is right in front of me and I have to head there.

I entered the woods walking my way to Neil's house. It's creepy leaves sound causes more fears to me. I remembered everything that happened last time I passed this route and my memories averted to me punching Neil. I chuckled and continued walking. I was thinking of what I probably saw, a guy with a golden eye. What's that supposed to mean or be? I stepped at the spot right then when I retied my shoes. I closed my eyes to view what I saw. There at my thoughts, I saw him again. I tried picturing him as someone I knew but it didn't work. He was just magical if I could say.

Talk of his golden eyes, are they powerful? Do they encompass power? In Veroz, there's nothing like power that I can believe of But this felt like one. Maybe it's a myth... something I can't unconver.

I walked down the woods looking up at the trees. The sun finds his way to shine in-between the trees and it sent rays down. It was beautiful as ever. I stood to take a picture but I was very optimistic. I could encounter what I had last time so I continued my walks. Soon I was out of the woods and I walked down to Neil's house.

I knocked and the door opened only to see Neil wearing a Rugby helmet.

"Dude?" I asked quizzical.

"Don't blame me. I don't wanna have a bleeding nose again"

"I promised not to punch you. And the last one was clearly a mistake. I didn't mean it"

"Yeah you didn't. Come on in"

I entered walking like a follower and Neil leading the way. I entered his room and sat on the bed. He went down to the kitchen again. On his table, I saw the device he showed me. Neil's a tech bastard. He attached the device with so many wires leading to a small screen. Though it seems rough but I guess Neil is still enthusiastic to get this this working. I picked it up checking it again to have a glimpse of what it is.

"I think it's not a Veronian tech" Neil said as he entered the room with a bowl of chips and a pair of soda.

"So what is it?"

"It's kinda an higher tech. I've tried hard to get the thing powered up but I guess it wouldn't work. I just have to keep trying"

"Do you think it's an earthling tech?"

"I doubt it. Earth has advanced in technology, true, but am skeptical if they are the one who had this. Besides, how did a Earth tech get here?"

I dunno. Probably in a way."

"Dude, leave that device there. When it's the right time, it'll be useful. For now, let's play game"

" Yeah yeah yeah, where I get to beat you. I like the sound of defeat"

"It's like you don't have a data of how many times I've beaten you. Literally Everytime"

"Hah, what a fake count"

"It's true. I beat you in every game. Clearly you are bad at winning in Virtual games"

"I think you are exaggerating. I beat you every time. And I intend on beating you up at this game"

"Really?"

"Oh Neil."

"Fine, what don't we bwt on this.?"

"Bet?"

"Yeah. We bet on this."

"Fine. Get on with your terms"

"If I win, you'll have to carry my backpack for the whole semester without any complains"

"Yeah and if I win...you'll have to tell the whole students of how awesome I am at the cafeteria. You'll stand on the table and scream my awesomeness outloud...for three weeks"
