When she had accepted the opportunity to come back in time, Persephone had not really thought about the ramifications of it. She had just thought about ending Voldemort once and for all before he could take down the rest of Wizarding Britain with him while getting her twin back. Really, nothing had mattered much up until right now, sitting in the study of the Peverell Ancestral Manor, looking at her responsibilities while trying to find a way to hide the resurgence of such a prominent family. She might have been clueless before, but she had quickly understood the importance of alliances and the safety they could procure, but she was not particularly keen on putting herself on the "market". She had grown up with a rather modern mentality - and besides, her twin would sooner kill her suitors than let them use her Title as a Lady and her fortune. No, she had to be thorough and to think of each and every alternative whenever she took a decision.
She still didn't know if she should attend Hogwarts, but was afraid that she would not have any choice. Even though she was already the Head of her House, she was still a minor in the muggle and magical world and they were able to force her to attend school - even against her will. If Dumbledore was half as annoying as in her time, he would do everything to have the Peverell heiress under his thumb, but might react rather negatively once he learns exactly who had sired her.
After contacting Fleamont Potter, her former grandfather, she had not thought much about it after. Her only issue had been explaining that the Cloak had a defense system that would help each Hallow get recalled back to its rightful heir once they claimed the title. Even though countless Potters and Gaunts had tried, they had never been able to be considered as heirs, for the only reason that they had not been chosen by Death.
Life was full of irony.
First, she was right now Lady Persephone Peverell-Grindelwald, Head of her House and held the legacy her grandfather had torn the world for while never being able to reach its true power because of his greed and lack of relation to the lineage.
It was also ironic to think the only remaining member of the Peverell family had been a woman who had ended up falling recklessly in love with Otto, his hidden son, and had given birth to twins - giving them the responsibility of bringing back their families to its rightful position.
It was also hard to get over the fact that Grindelwald had been imprisoned in the same castle he had created to hold onto his enemies. Thanks to the excruciating memories from her former Horcrux, she had a rather clear idea of the defenses and the location of the former war criminal. She was not still sure about what to do about him - he was old and frail, but had the potential for more. She could not trust him, even though he would love her power and seek to keep it for his own ; even though he would be rather displeased once he learns of his granddaughter's power and handle on her Chaos Magic. People had always been afraid of her wandless abilities - but she would still hold on on showing off, in this era and time, it would only bring her despair and enemies in the form of a serpentine asshole.
For some reason, ever since Persephone had been reunited with the Three Hallows, she could feel their powers strengthening. For some reason, the Cloak was not only completely invisible, but it now shielded her for spells (unlike before) and even concealed her from wards.
Let's just say that the Goblins were not as overjoyed as her - but were rather terrified of Thanatos and decided to stay silent and just glare at her while holding on tightly to their spears.
Since she did not fancy another Goblin War on her hands and rather needed their support during this time of need, she had promised them she would not rob them nor use her ability to hide from them in their own sanctuary without informing them beforehand. The fact that the proclamation had sealed itself just like a magical vow had made them relax and they had been able to advance rather fast on their different affairs while talking and informing her about the political news and alliances she needed to know about.
The Mistress of Death had already brokered a deal with them so they could heal the former Dark Lord if she decided to free him while providing him with a new identity rather close to the one he had - even though she was not sure if she would be able to call him "Father" if he adorned Otto's identity. Still, their name held power and fear and there were still many families that were loyal to them and would raise at the opportunity to help them.
Persephone was glad that she had never underestimated the Goblin Race, it was still rather frightening to see them working in tandem and creating false documents in the muggle and magical world. Still, there were currently creating different identities so he could choose one that would please her - and that would work out for Harrison, even though he would just follow her lead, as usual.
Still, Grindelwald would be important for her plans : aside from his knowledge about magic and ways to discredit Dumbledore, she needed to learn how to cast Protego Diabolica because she could not even begin to imagine how useful it would be against Voldemort's forces and allies. If there ever was a fight conglomerated in a single territory, she could easily deal and get rid of a big chunk of his soldiers. Besides, she knew him better than anyone, even himself since she had battled him almost once a year ever since she joined Hogwarts. From what she knew, at the meeting in the Lestrange Mausoleum, Gellert Grindelwald invoked a Protego Diabolica to differentiate between his supporters and his enemies. Abernathy, Carrow, McDuff, Nagel and Vinda Rosier made it through the flames and into the circle without any issue while the Aurors had been burned and killed by the spell. Even though Protego Diabolica is a powerful dark spell, it allowed the user to create a protective ring of black fire around them that completely incinerated the caster's enemies who came into contact with it while leaving their allies unharmed.
She sometimes wondered if Dumbledore had known about this spell and if he had never used it : if yes, she would be pissed at him and his tendency to give second chances to anyone. There was a difference between being forgiving and gullible, and it seemed like her former Headmaster did not know the difference - or acted like he didn't. She was also curious about the reason why Voldemort had never sought help from the former Head Grindelwald ? Was it because he was too arrogant and thought that the man had failed and he wouldn't? The only reason why Dumbledore was able to best him was because he knew the man inside and out, intrinsically like they were one single soul - and at the end, love and won out like the old coot had always said, but only because love blinded Grindelwald from being ruthless and ending the duel before it was too late.
"Wakey, wakey little wolfie," drawled the red head while entering the lower levels of the Manor. she had been glad to learn they had dungeons, even more so when she had discovered by pure luck, a certain werewolf trying to get inside her property once he felt someone was moving in.
Greyback opened his and growled, trying to scare her - but she had killed him by ripping his heart out of his chest in her former life, she was not even the least bit intimidated right now. "Don't be scared, I am not going to torture you," she said, looking at him in the eyes. "I am just going to use you to permanently turn you into a certain someone that needs to "die" soon."
It didn't take a genius to understand what she was planning on doing : while Greyback would become Gellert and perish in the dim walls of the Nurmengard Castle, the latter would endorse a new identity and gain a new footing in this new era - while being closely monitored by a certain Mistress of Death and a rather vengeful deity who did not appreciate his attempt to enslave him.
Meanwhile, in the Potter Mansion, the patriarch had shared a few stories and legends about the Peverells and their forebearers to make them understand the importance of keeping her emergence in the Wizarding World a complete secret. Aside from her enemies, there were too many factions nowadays and people didn't know who to trust anymore - no need to thurst a young sixteen year old witch in these matters.
James had been disappointed by his Cloak's loss, but understood the importance of family legacy and heirlooms and had stopped his whining and even wanted to send a letter to reassure the new Lady Peverell that there was no issue between them. After all, the Cloak itself had decided to leave him because she had already a master in head - and he would not want to displease it, even though some people would argue it was only a piece of cloth.

Each member of the Potter residence had shared the same dreams - but since none of them had ever heard about any other Persephone than the new Lady and that she was definitely not related to them, they decided not to share this disturbing occurrence with anyone.
In a corner, Death cackled - happy to finally be able to cause some mischief and mayhem now that he had a new Master anchoring him to Earth and this dimension in particular. He knew her enough to know she would never share the truth with her biological family and would rather suffer in silence - but Thanatos would not fail his Mistress.
Never.
