Twilight in Obsidian

“Please take me with you,” the woman whispered. Her voice was dry and hoarse, her body trembled like a leaf on an unsettled wave. Was it because of the crime she had just committed, or was it because of the aura the man before her gave off? She must be sick, both in and out of the head. Everything in her said not to ask for help, or at least not to ask him for help, nevertheless, here she was bowing her head down before him. “Now, why would I do that?” His dark, airy voice filled her ears. His voice sent shivers down her spine, making her freeze in her spot. Her head sank to the floor, unmoving. “I do anything from cleaning to washing, and cooking,” she said, muttering her words, timidly. The man hunched down to her size and uttered, his breath tickling her neck. “Have you met me before?” “No, but I can—” She began to say, as if he were contemplating her request but was quickly interrupted. “Don't be so quick to sell yourself to death.” Passing through her, he left her to crumble on the ground. °∆° "Did you think I would let you go after I found you? Do you know how long I have waited for this moment?” His voice deepened with each word that fell off his lips. The woman stepped back, not wanting to get close to this terrifying man. “I am being truthful, Your Highness. I don't know you, Your Majesty, our families haven't met for any reason. So please let me go,” she whispered. Her body touched the wall. Now she was stuck between the wall and the terrifying man. “Please, My Lord, I don't know what you are talking about,” She whimpered. He placed his strong hands on her hip, giving it a light squeeze as he pulled her closer to his chest. He whispered into her ears, “I missed you so much, it's been a long while, My love” He placed his head on hers °∆° R18 PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BOOK COVER ISN'T MINE, IT WAS FOUND AND REDESIGNED BY ME. ~Chapter 14~

"CALM DOWN YORK. Just do what I do and nobody gets into trouble" she cautioned. Smiling calmly at him, the old man nodded as he smoothened the non-existent crinkles on his suit.

They turned towards the door once they heard footsteps come up the stairs.

Marina straightened herself once she faced the door. The clinking sound of heels on the floor caught her ear.

"Welcome back lord Harris, Lady Evangeline" Marina greeted bowing her head to them

"W-Welcome back L-Lord Harris, L-Lady E-Evag—" York began to greet but was immediately shut down by Lady Evangeline with only a wave of her wrist.

York and Marina were, at the very least, irritated. But they kept their cool, as they always did. Only because of Yeona Chamberlain.

Lyra walked around them, only stopping moments later, "Where is Yeona?"

The two serfs went mute. Almost like the question itself had taken their voice.

The two adults squinted their eyes at the serf and shot up to go look around the house for Yen.

Storming back into the kitchen where everyone stood still, waiting for his search result.

"WHERE IS YEONA? IT IS PAST DUSK! WHERE IS SHE?!"

"L-Lady Y-Yeona h-has" York began to fidget, he was very close to revealing that she had not been home throughout the day.

Marina was very quick to cut in, just in case he did or said anything stupid. "Lady Yeona did come back a few minutes after the family left on the carriage."

"But she left soon after her morning bath, as there wasn't anything for her to do. Since she was banned from eating, she left as quickly as she did."

"She came back a while ago to make dinner and left, she said something about the moon being beautiful and was going to watch it before coming back."

Marina's lie was as smooth as cloth, it flowed effortlessly from her lips. She neither flinched nor did she falter. It was almost as if she had been prepared for it.

"I am guessing she would be back soon. But you can wait for her while I warm your bath and Mr. York work re-heat up your dinner" She bowed her head waiting for their response.

Sweat nervously trailed down her spine. Her fingers were crossed in hopes of coaxing them with her lie.

"Call her in once she comes back from her sightseeing." Lord Harris commanded.

Marina nodded as she collected their disregarded clothes.

"Lady Yeona where are" She whispered to herself as she entered the laundry.

Diysus and Bunasis stood by the rail of the rooftop garden. Diysus looked pain-stricken just by touching her.

Bunasis now didn't know what exactly she was supposed to say or do.

Diysus, from her point of view, looked terrible and extremely worn out, and these changes were just changes that occurred in minutes.

She soon began to see how heavily this weighed on him. It was like Sephtis dream.

No.

This was something else, and for a god to lose his or her memory. This was an alarming feat.

Memory loss occurred for different reasons. It is either it was altered for the person's safety or it was taken as an act of cruelty.

Now that she knows the source of the problem, she now truly believes that she can't do anything about it. It was a dream, so it was beyond her power.

She was the Goddess of sleep and dreams

Her job was to ensure good sleep and interpret the dreams of her fellow gods and goddesses. She appears to them only when they have dreams, they don't understand the meaning to it.

"Can you tell me your memory?" She asked calmly because Diysus was very anxious and agitated. She wasn't going to push him or force him. But she was going to get the information she needs.

He breathed out as he sat on a single arm couch chair. He ran his fingers through his blue hair. His hair was almost the same exotic color of the Ocean blue color.

In this memory-like dream, Diysus found himself in a room that appears to be a vast, dimly lit chamber. The room was filed with countless threads, each thread had a shared memory or experience he has had with his beloved.

The threads were woven together in a complex and a very intricate tapestry, a clear visual representation of their relationship.

However, as he began to trace his fingers along the threads, he realized with a sinking feeling that the threads were blank or fading.

He tried to recall the forgotten memories, the threads became more tangled and tightly knotted. It was almost as if the more he tried to remember, the more it disrupted the harmony of the tapestry, creating chaos and confusion within the room.

But the chaos didn't stop Diysus from reaching for a thread. This time the threads had grown spikes and were piercing deep into his palm. Diysus did let it go till he had the tip of the thread in his palm.

There, memories began filling his head.

The woman's face was blurred by white shining lights, only the falling length of her hair on her shoulders gave away the true color of her hair.

Silver.

"My Dearest love, I am sorry, something like this happened to us. This is beyond my power. But I love you, I never stopped, and I never will".

Her blurred face came closer to him, possibly a kiss.

Suddenly the ashen and she had a gaping hole in her chest. But this time her face wasn't blurred but the light, he could see her clear face skin.

But it had dirt on it and marks. It wasn't only her face that had marks but also her hands, legs, and arms everywhere. He looked at her fingers and noticed his ring.

Luminara's Heart.

He looked at their surrounding, it looked like there was an ongoing war, and he saw his fellow gods and goddesses. Multiple other lesser gods littered all over the floor.

The ground soaked up blood and the dead bodies. Daemarral was going to be filled to the brim.

Though higher gods disappear once they die, there are also creatures of deformed shapes and sizes spread across the earth dead.

Just before another memory could be seen, the thread snapped. The wave of pain that washed over Diysus was enough to wake him up from his sleep.

Once he was done, Bunasis's face darkened, it was as if a bucket of iced water had dumped hard on her.

"The only war we have ever fought is S.A.D, and we fought it along with the Aswinesian women. Diysus are you hearing yourself now? You are saying your mate died in that war?! If she died, everyone in the immortal realm would know about this!!" Her voice was firm but devoid of emotion.

Diysus just realize what he said? Does that mean the entire Immortal realm had memory loss?

From the sky to the waters, to the underground? They all lost their memory of what happened in S.A.D?!

"TELL ME IT IS A LIE!" She began yelling, started banging her fists on his chest. "It is not true, right?! You didn't have a mate amongst the Aswinesian women, right!"

Six hundred years since the S.A.D war and they were just finding out this.

"We are calling a meeting!" Bunasis turned around, running to change her clothes, with Diysus hot on her tail.

"WAIT!, BUNASIS I SAID WAIT!!!"

"What?!"

"There is something more important than—"

"What could be much more important than the ENTIRE immortal realm having memory loss"

"Jinx is back"
