Twilight in Obsidian

“Please take me with you,” the woman whispered. Her voice was dry and hoarse, her body trembled like a leaf on an unsettled wave. Was it because of the crime she had just committed, or was it because of the aura the man before her gave off? She must be sick, both in and out of the head. Everything in her said not to ask for help, or at least not to ask him for help, nevertheless, here she was bowing her head down before him. “Now, why would I do that?” His dark, airy voice filled her ears. His voice sent shivers down her spine, making her freeze in her spot. Her head sank to the floor, unmoving. “I do anything from cleaning to washing, and cooking,” she said, muttering her words, timidly. The man hunched down to her size and uttered, his breath tickling her neck. “Have you met me before?” “No, but I can—” She began to say, as if he were contemplating her request but was quickly interrupted. “Don't be so quick to sell yourself to death.” Passing through her, he left her to crumble on the ground. °∆° "Did you think I would let you go after I found you? Do you know how long I have waited for this moment?” His voice deepened with each word that fell off his lips. The woman stepped back, not wanting to get close to this terrifying man. “I am being truthful, Your Highness. I don't know you, Your Majesty, our families haven't met for any reason. So please let me go,” she whispered. Her body touched the wall. Now she was stuck between the wall and the terrifying man. “Please, My Lord, I don't know what you are talking about,” She whimpered. He placed his strong hands on her hip, giving it a light squeeze as he pulled her closer to his chest. He whispered into her ears, “I missed you so much, it's been a long while, My love” He placed his head on hers °∆° R18 PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BOOK COVER ISN'T MINE, IT WAS FOUND AND REDESIGNED BY ME. ~Chapter 13~

YEONA WENT TO THE BATHHOUSE, Sereia giving the mother and daughter some privacy. The bathhouse was as luxurious as their wealth could carry, which was much.

Yeona stepped into the large bath. There were lots of women's oil and expensive soap.

"This is so nice. It has been a while since I have been able to smell this pleasant and good".

Back in the living room, the air was cold, and the water went floating around. There was a heavy hostility between them.

"You lied," Sereia said calmly, her eyes glaring purple.

"Why did you only tell her there were only two types of Entropy Sorcery? There are three and you know it".

Gwen looked back at her daughter, "She didn't need that information"

"Huh?! She didn't need that information? Why would you decide a thing that?" Sereia asked.

"Because she is different from us, because—"

"Different from us? How? She speaks Tajhaena, she is from Aswines, you know her mum. How is she different?" she argued.

"Exactly, she is different because of her mother. Think about it, why would I be best friends with her mother, but I don't know her? I have never met her. It is either her mother hid her or something else happened".

"What does it have to do with her mother? [Pause sigh] I don't care, she is my best friend. So it's either you tell her or I will".

Rolling her eyes, Gwen rested her chin on her head, "You only just met her yesterday, and you are already best friends?"

"I guess it is in the Aswinesians blood" Sereia raised her dress, and she stormed out of the room.

Gwen sighed as she thought about how her daughter was starting to get rebellious.

"I don't know when this rebellious stage started, but I need you to drop it"

Sere paused on her feet, turning her head to look back at her mother, "I will be in the bath house with Yen, we will be out for dinner. Oh, and your husband is back." With that, Sere left the living room.

Just after she left, Lord Whyte came in. Gwen glared at Sereia retreating.

Lord Whyte came closer and kissed his wife on the temple and cheek.

"Is something wrong, Dearest?" He asked affectionately, hugging her from behind.

"It is nothing Darling, Sereia is just in her rebellious stage"

"Isn't it a bit late for that?"

Gwen sighed as she walked towards a two-sitter couch, with Lord Whyte behind.

A serf offered the couple wine and fruits. "Also Sereia brought over a friend, she is staying for dinner, but I am not sure if she is staying for the night"

"I see" was all Lord Whyte replied, before he began telling his wife about his day and deals.

"I see you are enjoying the water" Sereia spoke out, making her presence known to Yen.

"Not only the water but also the soap and the essence oil. It has a very delicious smell, also like chewing gum".

"Mhmmm, just don't go eating it, alright?" She warned.

Sereia pulled off the robe she was wearing, and this greatly surprised Yen.

"What are you doing?!" Yen yelled, dunking down into the bath water, keeping her head just above the water.

"What are you doing?" Sere asked, deflecting the question back to her.

"Why are you getting undressed?"

"Because I also want to bathe. Problem?"

"But I am naked"

"I have seen you naked, and also wasn't it you that said [We are both females just different proportions]" She teased, Yeona splashed water on her once she entered the bucket.

The two girls sat in the bucket just talking and getting to know each other more. It was a very new experience for Yen, as she had never shared a bath with a girl her age.

She also had never shared a meal with anybody but Marina and York. Back at the manor, she wasn't allowed to eat on the dinner whether they were using it or not. But as she grew older, she took little to no care about it.

Being clean and using scented oil was a privilege she had whenever she kept the change from her market shopping. Bathing water was always the same with the weather.

When it was cold and chilly, she bathed with cold water and when it was hot weather, and the water unusually hot, she would bathe with it.

But from yesterday, the pool at Anly Mountain was cold, but regardless of it, Just staring at the moon while she bathed, made her feel relaxed.

And the morning bath was lukewarm, maybe it was because the sun came out and the chill from the night went out. The meals she shared with Sereia and her mother had to be so delicious and filling.

It reminded her so much about meals she had with her parents, that if it wasn't for the story Gwen was telling her, she would have cried her heart out.

"Care to share your thoughts?" Sere questioned, interrupting her thoughts.

"If I told you, I am happy I met you, would you believe me?" She asked, smiling at her.

"Because you found out about our people?" Sere asked as she watched Yen come out from the water to dry herself with the towel.

"Not really, This is the first time in three years that I feel comfortable and relieved after bathing. So thank you" She said gratefully.

Her sincerity took Sereia by surprise. "It is alright, we are best friends, right?"

"Best friends?"

"You don't want to be?" Sere questioned her. She swam closer to the edge of the bucket, leaning her head unto her palm as she smiled at her.

"Well, we just met yesterday" she mentioned, rubbing the towel across her neck as she stared at her with a small smile.

"Well it's only reasonable to be, we are both Aswinesians and also, it seems like your mom and my mom are already best friends right? So why don't we be one?" Sere, folding her arm over the bath bucket.

"Well, if you think so, I don't mind" She answered with a happy face.

She had never had a friend, even when her real parents were alive. Because for some reason, everyone always forgot about her after she was introduced.

But it didn't bother her, because she always had her parent, most especially her mom, who she could consider her best friend. But now she had a best friend who would always remember her. Of course, she was over the moon.

"M-Marina, what d-do we d-do? It is already-y late at n-night and-d Lady Yeona is b-back, since y-yesterday" York stammered nervously.

Marina bit her lip as her thoughts began racing. Where did she go? Yeona, even though she didn't like the Rutherford, she always made sure to come back home as it had always been for the Chamberlains.

"Lady Yen, where are you?" She whispered, staring out to the night.

"AH!!! T-The Rutherfords are b-back!!" York shrieked. This shocked Marina's bone marrow. She turned to give the old man a hard glare. Muttering his apologies, he began panicking once more.

"T-They are b-back what d-do we do Marina?!"

Gripping his shoulders, trying to calm the agitated stammer.

"Calm down York. Just do what I do and nobody gets into trouble" she cautioned. Smiling calmly at him, the old man nodded as he smoothened the non-existent crinkles on his suit.

They turned towards the door once they heard footsteps come up the stairs.

"Where is Yeona?"
