Reckless part 2

Shimmering lights everywhere in colors ranging from blue to gold and white. The venue was breathtaking, with simple gold strips and highlights to match the lights. The air was buzzing with very excited students hiding behind their masks making them bold enough to openly gossip about one another from judging costumes to guessing who was behind each mask present. 

They made an entry.

Three swan-like young ladies with dresses that highlight their inner glow making it radiate so much that all eyes were focused on them. Dove giving off her ice princess vibe with her fairy-like blue gown, Hannah with a gown that was vibrant like her personality giving off a welcoming and surreal feel. Last but not least, definitely not least, Alyssa whose overall appearance was the complete opposite of her two friends, with a fiery red gown that sent one message to the crowd below, "it is the calm before the storm".

" who are they? "

"I wish I could see the one behind the blue mask" 

 " Who is so daring to wear the color red? " 

" Look she even used red highlights in her hair" 

"how brave!" 

 "I wish I was her" 

Murmurs could be heard all around as the girls passed all the student mini-groups below the staircase but they did not fret as they walked confidently without a single change in their expressions mostly hidden behind their masks.

The girls walked to a secluded area and waited for the event to start.

" I was actually nervous." Hannah said being the first to admit to the tremendous pressure they were placed under just for walking in late.

" Well, It is your fault that we were late anyway." Dove hissed also because she was holding her breath from all the nervous 

Hannah chuckled and said, "I would be late again, if I would get to see your cat eyes ( how Dove's eyes look when she is nervous) again. 

" Well, you..." Dove wanted to reply but could not finish her sentence as the events director got onto the stage. 

" Attention, attention everyone." Ms Andy one of the senior doctors said as she was the events director for the evening. She was wearing a seductive smirk that made her overall appearance look more enchanting. Some students shivered just from hearing her voice because she has made their lives difficult in the past 

" I still have PTSD ( post-traumatic- stress-disorder) from the lecture she gave last month." One student said 

" Last month, she tore me apart just a few days ago when I did my case presentation." Another added 

" You gotta admit though, she is very pretty." One girl sighed with a dreamy look.

" Yeah, my whole life would be complete if I wake to be half amazing as she is" Another girl added 

" Women are weird." The student who commented first said 

" Yeah, tell me about it. How can you admire the same doctor who publicly embarrassed you." The second male student added 

" Sigh, you will never understand." The first girl added 

" Hmph." The male students said simultaneously 

" Now, Now. I get it. I have taught some of you and I get that some of you do not like me. No, let me rephrase that, I am pretty sure you ALL do not like me. To be honest, I do not care." She said with a mischievous grin, " Anyway we are not here today for that." 

"First I would like to say, welcome to our end-of-the-program masquerade party. I won't take much of your time so let me get straight to the point. Today, we are trying something completely new and we hope it will be a success. The evening will be run following a specific theme and with that, we will have our activities for the evening. We do hope everyone will participate and have a lovely evening! Finally, the theme will be applicable later this evening" 

" Oh, by the way, the theme is mystery and chase. Enjoy!!" Ms Andy said using a high-pitched voice so that she could avoid answering the students' questions as they were confused about the theme. 

" Well, we are in for a surprise." Alyssa finally said something for the first that evening. 

" You bet." Hannah said 

" I feel sort of, mmm, you know the feeling of anticipation." Dove said as she could not phrase her meaning clearly when Hannah jumped in and said, " Just simply say you are excited. It is called being excited." 

" Whatever." Dove said 

" Alyssie!! Let us go to the dance floor!" Bianca said as she rushed to the trio with a group of the non-Ms ( non-military students). 

" Uh, Hi. This early?" Alyssa answered unsurely 

" Oh come on, this is how we are supposed to start a partyyy!" Bianca shouted. 

" I love your energy." Hannah said 

" See? Alyssie, Dovie....wait, may I call you Dovie?" Bianca said and without waiting for a reply from Dove she simply continued and said, "thank you." 

" I haven't said anything yet." Dove argued 

" Yeah but you not replying meant you are giving me the go-ahead," Bianca said with a wink. 

" Come on let us go dancing!" She said pulling Alyssa's arm lightly

" Oh I know, you want some motivation don't you?" Bianca said laughing with a mischievous look. Then she gathered the girls into a small circle and said, " Well, a little birdie told me that super models and other celebrities will be here tonight as way to do some marketing for the institute. And you guys know what this means right?" She added 

Alyssa and Dove shook their heads signaling that they did not know and Hannah did not know but she was just excited by the news. 

With a chuckle, " It means that tonight we might catch the eyes of supermodels and it looks like you already have, Alyssa." She said as a waiter dressed in an elegant tuxedo moved to the trio with a red rose and a small red letter. 

" What?" Alyssa asked confused as Bianca simply pointed in the direction of the waiter.

" For you, miss." He said with a professional tone. 

" Uh..., thank you?" Alyssa said 

" It is a pleasure." The waiter said as he retreated.
