Reckless part 1

" Guys!! why did you not wake me up?! We have so much to do! We have not packed, the gowns are still where we left them and I can not find my phone charger! Has anybody seen it?" You would not believe that the frantic lady was none other than me, not Hannah which would have shocked most people.

" Nevermind, I will look for it." I said without even giving my friends a chance to say something. They both had shocked and worried expressions and that was probably because of my current state, frantic and all over the place even my hair was as frantic as my mood. I rushed through the piles and piles of stuff I was still planning to pack looking for my charger but the problem was I was not even looking my mind was not there and all I wanted was to go back to my bed and stay there for a while but I couldn't.

I wouldn't let my friends down because I agreed to go to the masquerade and I agreed to go there in his jet, a jet in which he would not be there probably because he wanted to avoid me.

" Alyssa. Alyssa! Stop it! Come on, sit while we handle everything. We did not wake you up because we were planning to do the packing and check out of the hotel before you woke up." Hannah said

"What? About getting ready? We are still going to the party right?" I asked them seemingly not hiding the confused look on my face.

" We are going to prepare for the party when we get back, so we decided to wake you only when we were about to leave." Dove offered and it dawned on me here that I had completely forgotten about our plans, we discussed this before and we agreed about getting ready when we returned because flight dynamics could ruin the dresses.

" Oh...yeah, silly me...of course." I said as I let out an awkward laugh. Now I had done it, their expressions were beyond saving, they were completely worried about me now and that was not what I wanted, I did not want to hawk their attention again, they did not need this.

" I am fine really, you guys do not have to look so worried. It is normal that I forgot about our arrangements for the party, sorry." I said as I plastered the brightest smile I could master.

" Are you sure? We can always cancel this, I mean we are about to be introduced to society and we will get a chance to go to more of these for our families." Dove said

" No, no, I mean it guys, I am totally fine. We are going to that masquerade party to unmask certain culprits." I said as I tried to liven the mood with a small joke. I even winked which is a rare sight even for my friends.

....

3 hours later we were on the flight back and yes, it was not an easy feat to get Dove and Hannah to agree. Just as expected Calix was not on the flight or at least we did not spot him anywhere not that I wanted to see him or anything and that did not matter anyway because in the end, it still stung. I spent the duration of the trip looking out the window while Dove was reading and Hannah was sleeping.

" Ladies, we will be landing in 15 minutes." We heard the announcer explain.

" Han, wake up. we are about to land." Dove said to a sleeping Hannah who slowly opened her eyes.

" Uhm, thanks." She said clearly still sleepy.

She then jolted from her seat and fist pumped the air and said, " Wheee!!!! Party here we come, no excuses guys, I just had a dream that reminded me that Alyssa is turning 21 in a few weeks' time so we are going to use this party to start the journey to celebrating her upcoming birthday." She said completely void of the drowsiness she had a few seconds ago.

" Are you still on that, celebrating birthdays weeks before the actual birthday?" I said with a laugh

" Of course!" Hannah said

" You just want an excuse to party and go wild every day." Dove said as she rolled her eyes

" That is not true! Well, it may be partly true but that is not the reason! I mean we hardly ever get to celebrate something like normal young adults because our families always meddle." Hannah said in her defense.

" Well if you put it like that then it makes sense. Count me in." I said

" You? You are going to go on a drink fest with Hannah?" Dove asked incredulously. I get what she means, really I do.

" We have landed, thank you for your patience and support." They announced.

I unbuckled my seat and stood up then went back to answering Dove, " Sure, Why not? I mean what do I have to lose anyway?" Come to think of it, I wish I had not said those words.
