Beating Level One Part 2

Raheem knew he needed to bring the kid to safety. He barked at him and walked towards the road. Luis watched him, but didn't move.

Raheem turned around and barked again at him. He tilted his head to the right. "Y-you want me to follow?" Raheem shook his head up and down. He started to run again, but this time he heard small feet running behind him.

Luis had been following the wolf in front of him for the past five minutes. "Wait, I can't keep up any longer." Luis stopped and leaned on a boulder. Raheem barked and snarled at him. 'Get up! We must keep going.'

Raheem was getting more anxious, he heard his pack howl to find them. Luis heard the howl to and dropped to the ground. He started crying. "Wolf, go ahead and just eat me like your friends did with my dad. I'm never going to make it." He tossed his dagger into the bushes out of frustration and anger.

He was angry and frustrated at himself. He angry because he was weak and couldn't save his dad. He was frustrated because he was weak. Raheem saw himself instead of seeing the boy in front of him.

'Come on! Are you really going to stand by and watch this kid die in front of you!?' Raheem growled and made Luis climb the boulder, he went to the bushes and grabbed his dagger with his teeth. Raheem waited for his pack to show up.

It didn't take long for them to catch up. Raheem wasted no time and swiped his head at the first one to reach him. He slashed its throat and it fell down, he made his way to the second one and did the same. There were only three of them left and they eyed him.

Luis watched as the wolf he followed killed two members of its own pack to protect him. He couldn't believe his eyes at first, he never heard of a wolf protecting a human.

Raheem lunged at the closest wolf and cut its side open, but was bit on his foot. He yelped and dropped the dagger. He spun around and clawed the wolf who bit his leg in his eyes. He then tried to bite him and finish him off, but was tackled.

He bit clawed the one who tackled him and was lucky to claw his throat. He stood up on shakey legs and glared at the remaining two. He felt himself getting weaker and weaker by the second.

Luis saw his guard was heavily injured and grabbed some stones and threw them at the other wolf's. The blinded wolf reacted and went after him, Raheem took this chance to tackle the other one. He was clawed on his stomach and lost one of his eyes, but he finally finished it off.

He chased behind the blind one, it was only relaying on its sense of hearing and smell to find Luis. Luis kept throwing stones at it to slow it down. Raheem caught up to it and bit its tail. He pulled and they both fell off the boulder. The blind wolf broke its neck on the way down, while Raheem broke his leg.

He was riddled with injuries and knew was he was not going to make it. Luis climbed down and ran to his side. He was crying for him. Raheem laid there and felt Luis tears stain his once silver now red coat, he leaned upwards and licked his hands. Luis looked up and saw his eyes. 'It's ok, you need to go.'

This made Luis cry even louder. A group of men came through the bushes and saw the scene. "Luis!" The biggest of them all stepped towards him. Raheem growled at him.

*Sniffles*

"It's ok, Emerson, he is a friend." Raheem ignored what he was called and laid back down. "Luis what happened?" Luis told him what happened and the men sucked in air. If they didn't see the bodies themselves, they would have never believed Luis.

"Can't you save him? Please save him, he gave his all to protect me?" The man bent down and placed his hand on Luis shoulder. "I am sorry, but with his injuries he won't last, it would be better to put him out of his misery."

"No! We can't just do that to him." "Luis! Look carefully at his injuries. He has a broken leg, a cut on his underbelly, one eye left, bite marks all over, and he has lost too much blood." Luis gripped his fur and silently cried. "He is suffering Luis." The man went and picked up his dagger, he handed it to him.

"You should be the one to end his suffering. He gave his life to save yours, this is the least you can do." Luis shakily grips the dagger and looked at Raheem.

Raheem heard everything and the man was right, he knew he wasn't going to make it. He was also in an immense amount of pain. He licked Luis hand to tell him it was ok. He also remembered doing this to the animals he hunted, while he was in the academy, those were the most heartbreaking moments to him.

Luis looked him in his eye. "Thank you for protecting me, I gave you the name Emerson because of your emerald green eyes. You are the most fearsome animal I have ever met." He stabbed Raheem in his throat, his body twitched and then laid still.

The notifications sounded in Raheem's in ears. He slowly opened his eyes and saw the familiar woods, greenhouse, and ring. He breathed slowly and relaxed his mind.

Scott and Stiles returned and saw him laying on the ground. Raheem felt their gaze and sat up. "Go home for the rest of the day, training is over. Keep your uniforms and wash them we can train next week." He didn't give them a chance to talk and went inside.

Raheem needed time to relax and unwind. On the outside it was only a few minutes, but on the inside, years went by with him being a wild wolf. Raheem could remember everything he did with picture perfect clarity. The way he hunted, the taste of raw meat, the feeling of biting and tearing through a living thing. All of it was still so vivid to him, the scariest part to him, was that he didn't feel any guilt for it. In fact, he wanted to let loose and do it again.

He shut off his phone and curled up in a ball. He didn't want anyone to bother him. He soon fell asleep.
