Chapter 20 Many years ago

Many eras ago, when there was only 1 heaven; the heaven of order and chaos. An overarching consciousness of all that is and will be. An intangible breeze of thought. Something that should be but isn't.

But it felt alone, it had nothing to do but to be, it did not exist, it had no purpose. One faithful day it decided to make organisms to rule over, guide them, give them purpose, something it cannot ever achieve. Give them power, an everlasting exchange of power with itself, so not to feel alone.

But it did not account for the power it bestowed its creations to have a negative effect. Its creations started to mutate and evolve. Comprehending order and chaos, right from wrong, evil from good.

This had a catastrophic result for the heavens of order and chaos. It split the brittle balance in two. Creating the heavens of order and the heavens of chaos. The creatures that lived under the heavens of chaos wanted only one thing; chaos.

In order to achieve this, they thought they had to wipe out the one thing that stood in their way. The heavens of order. But the heavens are not tangible and cannot ever be destroyed, only suppressed. At least that is what they thought when the forces of chaos invaded the heavens of order and couldn't wipe out the creatures the heavens of order created.

The forces of chaos were furious, to vent their chaotic desires they captured the forces of order and made them their slaves, tortured them, made them breed with lesser forces of chaos. As such the first era had begun; the era of Chaos.

The heavens of order was so thoroughly suppressed by the heavens of chaos it did the only thing it could think of. It split itself into countless consciousnesses. This created a massive explosion one couldn't fathom. The heavens of order's splinters of consciousnesses were flung across the void. Some even exceed the voids barrier and start universes of their own.

This action of the heavens of order had consequences both heavens couldn't have thought was possible. Creatures of the void were birthed. They roamed between the barriers of the heaven's domains.

Some speculated they are heaven's splintered consciousness taken tangible form. But no one knows for sure.

The forces of chaos not expecting for the heavens of order to split itself took a massive hit. As they wanted to pursue the splinters of the heavens of order, they couldn't because of the creatures of the void holding them back. The forces of chaos had to defeat void creature after void creature.

It took them so long, that the first splinter of consciousness of the heavens of order took root and created its first organism. A humanoid creature, able to think on a whole other level. The humanoid creature was so advanced and had such a strong mind it could superimpose its ideas and consciousness on the realm of reality.

These humanoid creatures called themselves Shogun. They prospered, procreated, and lived in harmony with the splintered consciousness of the heavens of order. They became so powerful and they were with so many they had to travel outside, through the void. That is where they found the void beasts. The Shogun came up with the idea of taming a void beast which succeeded because of their unimaginable strong minds.

As they traveled through the void, they came across the splinters of consciousness of the heavens of order. Their own splinter had become so powerful and had blessed the Shogun, it gathered the found splinters and fused itself with them. Slowly morphing from a splinter into a full consciousness. The heavens of Shogun, it called itself.

Like this two eras existed at the same time; the era of Chaos and the era of Shogun.

As countless years passed and the Shogun found more and more splinters and their heavens got stronger and stronger. It suddenly let out a warcry. The forces of chaos and the heavens of chaos had found it.

A time of war and bloodshed ensued; the era of war. The forces of chaos and the Shogun clashed, neither taking the upper hand in the war. But the forces of chaos didn't relent and they had so much more forces to throw at the Shogun.

The Shogun in a fortuitous encounter found another heaven that regained full consciousness. The heaven of Titan. Immediately they found allies in each other. The era of Titan started. As the Shogun adventured further and further, more and more fully conscious heavens were found and many new eras began.

A funny thing really. At some point, there were countless eras at the same time happening.

As the Shogun were pushed back even with the support of the other races. The Shogun began to think of a way for their legacy to continue. Because they felt the end coming for their race.

As they searched they stumbled onto a split heaven. Normally a heaven had one dominant race, one that was loved by their heavens. But this one was divided into two. The heaven of Hell and Heaven. Two races fighting each other for dominance of their world but not one overpowering the other, which is unnatural.

The two races, that couldn't defeat each other for supremacy, the Shogun found were the complete opposite of each other.

The one race, called demons, had an overwhelming talent for the body path. Their talent is so overwhelming that as they are born they do not possess a developed soul. They have to create and develop their souls on their own.

The other race is the complete opposite. They called themselves the Angels. They are born as souls, only souls. Except for their halo and wings, the halo for their energy cultivation, and wings for body cultivation.

And the Shogun didn't see two races, they saw a race divided into two, that are supposed to be one. And they were hellbent on making them their successors.
