===================

Daisy spent some time finding Blonsky, who had been enveloped in lava and was severely injured and unconscious. Despite his unconscious state, Blonsky hadn't reverted to his human form and still had his terrifying appearance.

They hoisted Blonsky under the aircraft and flew back to the Pentagon.

The muscular build and terrifying appearance attracted the attention of the soldiers. Moreover, Blonsky's body continued to emit high heat, and now being wrapped in lava, he looked as if he was about to be cooked.

The high temperature posed a challenge for both the soldiers who wanted to detain him and the scientists in lab coats preparing to dissect Mr. Blonsky.

"Banner! Banner! Oh? Who's this?" Miss Betty tearfully rushed over upon seeing them capture a giant lying motionless on the ground. She cried her heart out, her eyes swollen, eager to give a warm kiss to the seemingly deceased Hulk, only to find out that she didn't recognize the person lying there...

A few military experts whispered among themselves, discussing how they could detain Blonsky. Their detection devices showed that he was still breathing, albeit very weakly.

SHIELD and the Department of Defense didn't have a subordinate relationship, and it was difficult to determine who was higher in authority. This time, SHIELD's assistance was mainly due to the $5.5 billion at stake.

They set Blonsky down, signifying the completion of their mission, and the group of them didn't get off from the aircraft, instead heading straight back to headquarters.

Things slowly began to ferment, and Daisy gathered some information from various sources. In less than half a month, the situation could be described as chaotic.

Who knows what trump card General Ross had played to let him escape unscathed?

So when Daisy saw General Ross at Obama's dinner party, she was genuinely surprised.

"Miss Johnson, don't be surprised. The outside world doesn't know about your superpowers, and naturally, you wouldn't know about my trump card, right?" General Ross was not wearing his military uniform today, but instead was in a suit and tie. With his hands in his pockets, he exuded less sternness, and more elegance and gentleness.

Now a political newbie, Daisy was quite perceptive.

She carefully replied, "You've left the military? Planning to enter politics?"

Seeing him appear in a suit at the Obama dinner party was quite convincing.

General Ross sighed heavily, "I've been in the military for forty years, and I've devoted most of my life to it. Now, taking off the uniform, I don't know if I can start over."

Daisy didn't believe a word of what he said. Old men like him could escape from such a deadly situation; his connections were even deeper than she had imagined.

Military and political circles had never been truly separate. He was merely changing professions; it wasn't like starting over from scratch.

She raised her glass, "Congratulations to you then. I'm sure the President candidate will arrange an important position for you. Let me guess? It's unlikely to be Secretary of Defense, so it must be Secretary of State, right?"

In her memory, during the Third Civil War, it was the old man who asked them to sign the Superhero Registration Act. At that time, he was the Secretary of State, right? Even in the MCU, he was the same during the Civil War of the Sokovia Records, it's just that Daisy hadn't expected him to be a Democrat.

The two clinked glasses lightly, and General Ross lowered his voice, "Banner is still under your surveillance, right? Tell Nick Fury for me, I don't care what plans you have, but keep that monster away from my daughter!"

The conversation quickly ended, and Daisy informed the Director about it that evening. Fury said he understood and then hung up the phone.

She began searching for information within SHIELD and finally understood the excuse General Ross had used to escape.

The movement of the crust in Culpeper and the subsequent eruption of lava became General Ross's lifesaver. The old man had subtly or overtly leveraged numerous connections, ultimately shifting all blame to a "natural disaster."

In the reports of the government and the military, the collapse of the Pentagon, the sacrifice of hundreds of soldiers, and the deaths of thousands of civilians were all attributed to this "natural disaster."

Culpeper was engulfed in lava for half a month, and the smoke and dust had yet to completely dissipate. Survivors were informed by a team of psychologists that the giant they had seen at the time was an illusion, a figment of their imagination! In the dead of night, pitch black all around, in the end, they weren't even sure what they had seen.

The journalists who had seen the scene were all from major news corporations and were ordered to remain silent, as were the soldiers.

Various speculations began to spread online. Some claimed it was an alien invasion, while others said it was the Russians detonating a super bomb. Of course, as per usual, there were terrorist organizations claiming responsibility for the Culpeper incident. The chaotic media reports completely buried the truth of the event.

When citizens demanded an explanation from the Geological Survey, General Ross finally managed to shed most of the blame. At the cost of resigning from the military, he managed to extricate himself from the situation.

His connections within the military remained intact, and because of his transition into the government, his status became even better. He introduced his daughter to Air Force Brigadier General Talbott, attempting to have this rising star replace him and exert influence within the military.

The old general's moves came one after another, leaving Daisy in awe. Faced with such circumstances in that position, her only choice would have been defection.

The Culpeper issue was frequently mentioned by both parties' presidential candidates.

Watching Obama on stage passionately advocating for the establishment of early warning systems, for holding the Geological Survey accountable, and for allocating funds to rebuild Culpeper, his tone grew increasingly fervent, met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.

As a key member of the campaign staff, Daisy and Ross also applauded nearby, showing their support. They seemed like bystanders, with no indication of their significant roles in the Culpeper incident.

...

From the decision to purchase to the installation, after three months of intermittent work, the supercomputer located in Daisy's Long Island villa basement was finally set up.

The first two payments were waived, and the third payment would be allocated to Stark Industries after a year of use. It could be said that Daisy had obtained the supercomputer for free, which made her extremely happy.

Her supercomputer's processing speed ranked seventh in the world, codenamed "Ideal."

The supercomputer carried her ideals and could help her reach the top.

Daisy called back her subordinates and pets to celebrate.

"What's this big guy for?" Lorna now appeared a bit more ladylike, but occasionally, you could still see a hint of wildness in her eyes.

What could the supercomputer do? It could do so much: research on her inhuman genes, calculate distances between light-years, decrypt login information in the ring, and much more. But Daisy realized she couldn't tell Lorna any of these things.

"It can? ... It can build a training ground to help you improve your abilities!" Faced with Lorna's question, she hesitated for a moment, stumbling over her words before finally coming up with a use.

That was to set up her own Danger Room, after all, all the data was readily available.

"Specially bought for me?" Lorna seemed a bit incredulous, eyeing the forty or so "fridges" that looked quite expensive.
