Landing on the Island

===============

"At the hospital, someone saw Dr. Pym being supported by two men, and then his whereabouts disappeared. I checked the hospital footage. They were cautious and didn't leave much footage in front of the cameras. This is the clearest image among them."

Sharon had already explained this once to Widow. This time it was mainly to tell the two of them, and after finishing, handed them a tablet. Hill had not fully recovered from the 'Oriental Massage', so Daisy had to take it herself.

The video only showed three figures in one corner, two tall men supporting another person quickly passing in front of the camera.

"Where did they go?" Daisy believed that Black Widow had already found the target. If it weren't for the need to wait for them to converge, the old doctor would probably have been rescued by now.

As expected, Black Widow indeed knew. She said in a deep voice, "On a small island in Costa Rica, the local registration information is for a biogenetics company that has been abandoned for a long time. The company has a strange name, Egghead Inventions, and the original person in charge was Elias Starr, a Ph.D. in advanced biology."

Daisy continued to nod. Nowadays, without a Ph.D. title, you lose face if you want to be a villain.

"Elias, also known as Dr. Egghead, has had several disputes with Dr. Pym and has sent corporate spies to steal the old doctor's technology. He's a major suspect."

Seeing that no one objected, Black Widow led the team to board a flight to Costa Rica to rescue the old doctor.

The enemy was operating on a small island, surely heavily guarded. To rescue the person, they had to sneak in quietly.

On the high-speed jet, they organized equipment, checked firearms and ammunition, set the jet to fly back automatically to the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, and then Black Widow opened the hatch. Each of them carried a parachute and jumped into the sea.

Daisy estimated that she could probably land without a parachute, relying on shock absorption to counteract gravity. However, she didn't see any reason to show off this time and honestly became a paratrooper.

The combat suits were of good quality, and after coming out of the water, they quickly returned to normal. The group silently landed on the island, looking at the tall and sturdy trees, numerous plants several times larger than those outside, and bushy shrubs resembling big trees. They all found it a bit weird; the plants here seemed much larger than those outside.

The surroundings were extremely quiet as they walked through the grass that reached their shins, like prey about to step into a trap.

Daisy looked at the small pistols in their hands and estimated that the firepower wasn't enough, so she decisively pulled out the Rhino Revolver.

Such a violent weapon made the others glance at her, but they all moved silently with light steps, and no one said anything.

Black Widow put on a pair of thermal imaging glasses, surveyed the surroundings, and suddenly exclaimed, "There's a big one! Quick, dodge!"

The attacker was extremely fast, almost at the same time as Black Widow's warning, they heard a buzzing sound coming from the air.

A giant wasp, three meters long with a wingspan of over five meters, covered in patterns, whizzed down towards the group.

Hill rolled on the ground and fired two shots.

Her reaction wasn't slow, but the wasp was faster. It flew past them, heading towards the sky, its dark compound eyes watching them, preparing for a second dive.

Hill's bullets completely missed.

Looking at the steel-like bristles on the exoskeleton and abdomen, and the two-meter-long stinger, Daisy felt her scalp tingle. Getting stung by that needle would be very painful!

Wasps were terrifying enough on their own, and now, enlarged many times, they looked even more intimidating.

Her shockwave powers couldn't target fast-moving objects, but luckily, the firepower of the gun in her hand was strong enough.

The wasp flew into the sky, its compound eyes seemingly assessing which of these prey would be the best target.

Soon, it selected its target and charged down at Sharon Carter.

Daisy held guns in both hands, focused and aiming. She was waiting for that moment when the wasp would attack, stall, and then accelerate again.

She believed Sharon could easily dodge the attack, but Black Widow didn't want to take any chances. She threw an electromagnetic disc towards the wasp from the side, and the powerful electric current instantly stiffened the wasp's body.

Without hesitation, Daisy opened fire.

With a loud "bang," a .357 Magnum bullet hit the wasp's abdomen, and green viscous blood and internal tissue fragments spilled all over the ground.

The wasp fell to the ground, not immediately dead. Several limbs were still twitching. Daisy walked up, aimed at its eyes, and fired again.

"It seems like a mutated organism?" Although S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't provide diplomas, all of them had some education in biology. This giant wasp didn't look like a naturally grown creature.

"Not just a mutated organism, but a bioengineered one with a surveillance device, controlled by someone. Daisy, see if you can counteract the intrusion," Black Widow quickly gave the order.

Daisy resisted the nausea and began dismantling the surveillance device on the wasp's leg.

As soon as her hand touched the monitor, the hind legs of the wasp twitched slightly.

Bang! Bang!

Hill and Sharon each fired two shots, and Black Widow also took out two things that looked like electric batons and poked a few times.

Dismantling a monitor from the hairy hind legs was a first for Daisy. It wasn't necessarily dangerous, but the unsettling feeling was the main challenge. She pushed aside her thoughts and began working cautiously.

The shell, wires, two signal receivers, and a pinhole camera were all dismantled one by one.

She connected the dismantled monitor to her tablet, reversed the signal to trace back to its source, and quickly entered the opponent's host computer.

"Um, their base is to the northwest of the island, looks like a valley. We're lucky; this battle segment hasn't been discovered. I erased the footage, but I don't know how long it can last." She pointed in a direction, and the others quickly ran in that direction.

Surrounded by tall trees, it felt like trekking through a primordial jungle. All of them were tough women, and none of them complained. After running for ten minutes, they encountered an incredibly huge rhinoceros beetle. Seeing its robust exoskeleton, Daisy couldn't be sure if her gun could penetrate it, so they had to detour.

Advancing lightly, their speed was not slow. After navigating the jungle for an hour and a half, they finally discovered a three-story building in the northwest valley.

"Damn! I hate Nick Fury!" Black Widow looked at the guards outside the building and couldn't help but curse under her breath.

"I feel the same way."

"Me too..."

"It's disgusting..."

The four female agents stopped as if rehearsed. Even if a hundred elite soldiers blocked their path now, they wouldn't care. However, the guards outside this building weren't human; they were gigantic insects.

Giant wasps, centipedes twenty meters long, enormous poisonous spiders covering ten square meters, and caterpillars the size of a locomotive, covered in shiny green bristles...

Despite having a male soul, Daisy felt a tingling sensation all over her body, and the other three ladies also wore bitter expressions.

This mission clearly should have been assigned to male agents, like Hawkeye, Coulson or something!
